  1. I own two Player Series Fender basses: one Precision in black/maple, and a Jazz in white/maple. Both are really good basses for the price. They play well, they sound good, and the finish is also really good. Neck and frets are fine on both. Once in a band mix, you cannot really justify spending £1300+ on an American Fender. I’m really happy with my Players; they cover all my bass needs! With my band, the P is my main axe. Sits nicely in the band mix!
  2. It’s Christmas, treat yourself!
  3. I got to say I really like it too, but I couldn’t help going back to a SansAmp (very different animal). Hence the sale.
  4. Thanks, it actually helped me finding a good setting for the pedal myself, when I bought it months ago. Great resource for potential buyers!
  5. After 15 years of bass playing, I got sick of having pedals to plug in every practice... so I got myself a small pedalboard. -Tuner: a very old Korg DT10, it’s a tank but still works fine. -Compressor: Ampeg Opto Comp. Does a good job as well, I don’t like my sound to be ultra-compressed and this one is subtle enough. -Harley Benton (Joyo) Ultimate Drive: a cheap OCD clone, for when I need an overdriven sound. Couldn’t be arsed spending a ton of cash on Darkglass. -Fuzz: EHX Green Russian Big Muff, which actually belongs to my guitarist. I only use it on one song. -SansAmp BDDI V2: the core of my sound, my main preamp. After a few months on an Aguilar TH DI, I decided to go back to a SansAmp, as I was missing that tone.
  6. For sale, Aguilar Tone Hammer DI pedal in excellent condition, it’s only a few months old and has never been used in live conditions. It’s a fantastic preamp/DI, but I’m just looking to try out something else at the moment. It comes with the 18V power adapter. I’m based in Edinburgh, you can collect it or I can ship. I’m asking £175 for it. Thanks!
  7. Thanks for the reassurance!
  8. I’m having the temptation to go for a custom Elwood 4. My only concern is about the lack of string tree/retainer. I guess Adrian and his team know what they’re doing; but have you guys felt the need for one of those, or is the headstock angle enough to stop strings from rattling/buzzing?
  9. Sold a bass to stu the map, very efficient communication! Solid buyer.
  10. Absolutely nothing wrong with this one, it’s a great bass. Just thinking of getting a Player P-bass instead, tried one out and I loved it. And for now, I cannot justify piling up basses so I’m selling this one!
  11. It makes the bass super versatile. The preamp gives the bass a bit more punch, and is very musical. The passive mode is a pure passive one, it works even without batteries. You get a faithful, classic passive sound out of it. The J pickup gives your P-bass more versatility. All in all a great bass, but I’m thinning the herd. That being said there’s a guy coming to see it tomorrow, but if it doesn’t happen, we can discuss!
  12. They have indeed! Only selling this one to get myself another Player bass!
  13. Hi, For sale, Fender Jazz Bass Player Series in « Tidepool ». It’s only a few months old and it’s in fantastic condition. The bass has only been played in practice a couple of times and has never been gigged. No dings or dents! It plays great and sounds great too! Fender nailed it with this new mexican-made Player Series. You get a lot of bass for your money! Body: Alder Neck and fretboard: Maple Pickups: single-coils Jazz style Electronics: 2 volumes, 1 tone Pickguard: Parchment (I have a spare black one too). Considering the condition and the young age of the bass, I’m asking £450 for it. I’m based in Edinburgh, Scotland, although collection would be best, I can ship across the UK for an extra £15. Give me a shout if you’re interested! NO TRADE thanks!
  14. PLEASE DISREGARD all messages above about the passive mod. The bass is now back to its original setup - preamp and original pickguard. Just like the previous passive mod, it has been done by a professional guitar tech here in Edinburgh... I wouldn’t be able to do that myself, I’ve no electronics knowledge! I can throw in the second pickguard with the passive knobs and setup, if you’re keen to make the change yourself!
  15. We could arrange something indeed. It’s a mexican standard pickguard, not american FYI.
  16. I can figure it out, not too heavy to me. It’s a standard pickguard yeah, why?
