I already have 2 basses in-production, being an F Bass VF6-PJ Fretless and a Fodera Emperor Standard 6. I'm sort of in the doghouse with my wife at the moment. Ha ha However, if I can possibly swing it, and figure out a way to sneak it past my wife into the house, I have a 3rd goal this year for a Pedulla HexaBuzz (most likely used.) -
I love this too! I’d love to commission a build like this. To save a bit of money, I don’t need the inlaid jewels.
-
If money was no object, then my top 2 would be between a Carl Thompson Fretless 6 with scroll or hook. Or a Jens Ritter Jupiter 6. The one you immediately see when you visit the Ritter website. I don't need the extra bells & whistles of Phil Lesh's Eye of Horus model.

Michael Manring is a fan of them. According to this 2006 TalkBass thread, he owned 2 of them at the time of posting. I wonder if this bass was Manring's inspiration to have Zon build the Vinny (VB) bass. I have one of those also. For those who haven't tried one yet, it's essentially a "V" shaped P-Bass. I had a little problem with neckdive so I picked up a strap with a rough suede backing that grips my shirt & stays in place.

I've owned my Ibanez SR885 for more than 20 years and it still sounds/plays great. I've always received compliments on its tone both in live and recording situations.

Not that I can afford one, but custom shop prices make sense to me. The cost of manufacturing an instrument with unique specs is far greater than if the factory has a group of 10-20 identical spec instruments to manufacture at the same time.

~~Frantically searching for a "Like" button~~ Congratulations! That is an amazing top & finish.

The Ibanez Adam Nitti Signature (ANB1006) impressed me the most and it looks awesome but the $6,999 retail price puts it way out of my range. Adam Nitti mentioned on Facebook that there will eventually be a budget model. http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/u_eb_page15.php?year=2015&cat_id=2&series_id=64&data_id=147&color=CL01 There are also 2 sweet looking 6-string P/J configured Soundgears in the lineup. http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/u_eb_page15.php?year=2015&cat_id=2&series_id=51&data_id=78&color=CL01 http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/u_eb_page15.php?year=2015&cat_id=2&series_id=51&data_id=73&color=CL01 Not to mention even a nice GSR model. http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/u_eb_page15.php?year=2015&cat_id=2&series_id=55&data_id=131&color=CL02
