1. yea, it was the main reason that I ended up moving mine on, I just couldn't properly sort out the volume difference. Brands/types of string make a difference, as well as pickup height etc, but I always noticed it was there
2. hey tricky, One of my aerodyne jazzes used to be strung BEAD and it sounded great, it also seemed to even out the string volume issue as well.
3. Hi all, Up for sale is my Olympic White Fender Jazz Bass, made in 2010. She is a great instrument, and plays amazingly well, but over the last year I have realised that in my heart I am a P-bass man, and the Jazz just isn't getting the love she deserves. The bass is in great condition and comes with the Fender hardcase (pictured below). Price wise I am looking for [s]700[/s] *SOLD* posted, or collection from the centre of Oxford or Faringdon is also possible. People are very welcome to try out the bass aswell I have my eye on something special, which I am saving up for, so I will be ideally looking for a straight sale. Cheers, Adam
4. I shall have a look into the marshall, cheers I know I don't have to get a 410, but after a year of trying modular rigs and 212s I have decided that something bigger is definitely the way forward for me.
5. Hey, would you be willing to split? and if so, how much for the 410?
6. the 70s RI will be a great bass, and I would say that changing the bridge won't really have any great effect on the sound. if you are doing it for purely cosmetic reasons, then go for whichever you prefer the look of, otherwise I would say don't bother, as I really don't think you will notice the difference to be honest. EDIT: as said above, the money would be better spent on some nice strings or similar.
7. ah fair enough it's just that it has taken me 10 years to find a tone I like, and I would ideally like to keep the same amp for more than 6 months for once hehe. at the moment I'm looking at the Ampeg SVT410-HLF. does anyone have any other suggestions for good 410s to go with the landmark?
8.
I used a landmark 300 with Schoeder 1212L and found it to be a bit quiet in a rock band with 2 guitarists using 100 watt valve amps, so I upgraded my cab to a 4ohm Schroeder 410L. It was still too quiet and clipped a lot. I ended up upgrading to a Markbass F1 with a VT bass pedal in front of it in the end, which gave me the same sort of tones with enough power to cut through happily.
hmm, that is worrying...anyone else had this issue? The landmark is the nicest sounding head I've used, and I would like to keep using it. I do have a VT bass pedal and a BDDI aswell if I do end up needing to change, but I would rather not.
9. Hey all, I have a Landmark 300 bass head, which I love, and it sounds fantastic. I am currently in the process of changing my cabs and am wanting to get a 410. Apart from the Ampeg SVT410HLF and a couple of others, most 410s seem to 8 Ohms, and I am concerned that my amp won't put enough power into a single 8 Ohm 410, since the Landmark is only 300W (200W @ 8 Ohms). I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Landmark with a single 8 Ohm 410? Is it loud enough for rehearsals and gigs etc? Thanks in advance
10. would you consider a VT bass in trade?
11. bah, I just can't make up my mind. One minute I can't bear to part with it, the next I think that it's a waste to have to gathering dust, and that the money would be useful right now. I'm torn....
12. I get terrible GAS, haha. I have promised myself (and my girlfriend, lol) that the P-bass will stay with me for life, as it is the first bass I have bought new. After starting this thread, I got the Jazz out of the case to have a play on it, and it is definitely staying I dunno what I was thinking, haha.
13. I've been trying to build up the courage to record myself singing and post it up on here to find out if people think my voice is actually any good, lol.
14.
Man up lol Keep it as the new bass syndrome will wear off.
That was my initial thought, but as with many things in my head, there is a 'what if' sitting there.
15.
You've just realised what everyone realises eventually.
Funnily enough I realised it ages ago, forgot it, and have now realised it again haha.
16. So, I recently acquired a 2012 USA P-bass, which I absolutely love, looks amazing, sounds amazing and I can't put it down. The downside to this is that I have not touched my USA Jazz bass once since I got the P-bass. The Jazz is an amazing instrument, it looks beautiful and I love it, but I am really struggling to see when I would ever choose to use it over my P-bass. Try as I might, 'that' sound which I get from the P-bass into my Tech21 Landmark just doesn't come out of the Jazz, and that does kinda put me off playing it, cos I'm quite picky about tone. So I think it will just end up in its case gathering dust. (and the money would be quite useful right now.) On the other hand, it is an amazing instrument, it looks gorgeous and I am slightly worried about regretting getting rid of it in years to come. Any suggestions/advice/comments telling me to man up etc are welcome
17. good point I shall have to think a bit more, cos I'm fairly sure I will get murdered for buying yet more bass related things, but you may well get a PM when I decide it will be worth it for that sunburst body.
18. would you be willing to sell just the body? (ideally without the pickups, but with would be ok too)
19. phwooar! seriously tempted by this...now, do I have any money?
20. would you consider splitting? if so, how much for the 410? Cheers
21. I thought this thread was going to be about something else entirely.... Carry on....
22. got mine in the post on saturday (after being posted on friday, nice one max! ) just had a quick 5 minute play with it, and the difference in speaker movement is amazing. I go for an SVT type sound, and the low end seems tighter and much more defined. I am a very happy person
23. Thanks for the offer, but I'm afraid not. I'm trying to thin my collection out, and my amp already has the para driver built in.
