Here's mine. Swallow And The Kite. It starts off polite then turns on the sh*te. https://soundcloud.c...ow-and-the-kite
Love this, very nice indeed Can definitely hear some Rush influence in there. This thread has reminded me that I need to learn to polish up my recording techniques.
change your cabs mate, leave the head alone well I'm not ashdown lover at all but abm head can sound ok, but their cabs (especially budget series called mag) are rubbish! not even suitable to be used as a bed side table... if you have no money - try to find peavey tx/tvx or hartke 410XL or old trace elliot 4x10 cabs - your sound will improve straight away.
I have to say that in my experience, when EQed well, the MAG cabs sound decent (as do the MAG heads). Nothing special ofcourse, but definitely worth their price point. As far as other Ashdown stuff goes, the studio my last band practiced in had an ABM 500 and an ABM 810, and my god was that a beautiful sound.

anything from focusrite is always good I have a Sapphire 6 and it is great.

You should also consider whether you need 410s at all. 212s and 210s can go very loud if you use them well. I have just bought 2 210s (SVT210AVs) on here after reading lots of reviews and information about vertical stacking of drivers. I would look in the for sale sections here, if you see something interesting, buy it. If it isn't for you, you can put it back up on here and pass it on This is what many people on here do to try out gear.

Hey all, I'm looking to get a 2U case for my Landmark, but I don't really know much about these things, so I thought I would ask you guys. I'm looking to spend up to £50, and would ideally like something lightweight. Thanks

Well, I don't know much about the research, (although I am a little skeptical of their sample size etc), but his writing is awful He states that rock is the most dangerous 'judging from the top 10', but only 2 (maybe 3 if you count Fallout Boy) of the top ten are actually rock songs. To me this comes across as a cheap (albeit light-hearted) dig at rock music.

Cheers Lozz Have bought the pair of them off Prime_bass this evening lots of good reviews on talk bass and youtube along with your recommendation convinced me Thanks guys, this place is fantastic. -
Ofcourse, nothing wrong with it at all but with 2 of the same you do know exactly what you will be getting.

I would say that if you like 410s, you should get 2 of the same 410s, rather than a 410 and a 115. The idea of a 115 adding more lows than a 410 and 410s being more punchy are outdated and now just used as marketing speak. They are alot of cab gurus on here (Bill Fitzmaurice and Alex Claber being 2), who can help you with specifics

I would love to help out for any Oxford, Reading or Swindon gigs Let me know if you need any additional info. Adam
Jackers, try the 15 Minute Club in Faringdon, about 30 mins drive from Oxford. Good place to try stuff out in front of an audience, then generally get in people's faces with a view to... well, proper band stuff, as you put it. I'm hoping to go to the next one (3rd Feb), so if you see a Shrek lookalike holding a Godin Acousticaster, come up and say hello.
I've seen that, my mum lives in Faringdon I'll try and make the 3rd if I'm free.

also - as an aside, is it worth having a gigging rig if I'm not gigging? I'm really tempted to buy Prime_Bass's pair of SVT210AVs, cos I haven't seen them come up very often, but the sensible part of my brain keeps asking whether it is a good idea considering I'm not going to use them.
Look round some open-mic nights. That should give an indication of people who want to play, and, importantly, people who material that you like.
Good idea I shall have to find some open mic nights that are friendly (the 2 or 3 I've found so far have been these pretentious 'by invitation only' things....)
Time to start working on your own. Garageband is your friend. And I say this as advice for myself too. Time will come when something will be worth doing. Right now it isn't. Swings and roundabouts.
I do this already I picked up an electro-acoustic about a year ago and pick it up all the time to write songs, I love it!

I had an LH1000 for quite a while, and it always took about 12 seconds to fully turn on. IIRC the delay is caused by a protection circuit making sure there is nothing in the path that could damage the amp, so an increased startup time could be due to some dodgy/loose connections inside maybe? I would take it to a tech/friend who knows about this kind of stuff and get them to check it. Can't hurt tbh
