Like the people who buy a house in the centre of the the Imola race track. Then complained about the noise from the races, track days and testing and get very close to having the circuit shut down.
Hands up who else would have HAPPILY swapped! I always rather liked the idea of watching The Doctor from the comfort of me own roof.

18 tokens for a set of strings must have been painful back then.
You get a groupie as a bassist.
This thread has now entered the realm of utter fantasy.
Cheers for the input buddy, a small ray of hope that i might just have received a dodgy one! Though part of me is hoping it's just my wireless router interfering with it... That's the one variable i forgot to test...
Would that not be cleaned up by changing channels? (if it has them I've never used one) I use a Sennheiser that StevieFenderP sold me and anything that interferes is always sorted with a change of channel. I'm really surprised to hear that the Stageclix is being noisy cos the Sennheiser is silent - especially with Peev Inter 5 pickups (I dare say you know how quiet they can be!) I've even been a proper lazy arse and thrown the transmitter behind the control plate on the Peev and put a 3.5 jack in for recharge. I'm starting to enjoy "that bloke's miming!"

Just won this on Fleabay.. any idea's what it is? ***UPDATE FOR PICS***
Vinny replied to Nibody's topic in Bass Guitars
I'd deffo bet a quid on that being a Musima now I've seen those pics. Where yours has the 'K' written on it mine has an 'M' (or 'w' not sure!) and the bridge is exactly the same. The lack of any shielding looks good, too, and the back of the headstock is way too familiar. -

Better pics needed, but it looks an awful lot like my Musima P. -
I would think any problems that you have in this area should be sorted by messing with string gauges and tensions rather than the issue being with any particular bass or neck.

After being in a band for over a year I was told by a guitard... "I know a guy who plays this song on a 5 string and it sounds really good. You don't have a 5 string do you?" I only play 5s.

At least they aren't called 'The Rickenbackers' cos then they'd REALLY be in trouble!

Awesome, that's more than my playing ever does!!

Our singist Derfel and our now sadly ex-lead-fret-botherer Nikky on the telly. The video thankfully stops just before the 'judges' slag 'em to death! Don't care. Proud as hell of them! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-N4rZvJDinM

'Cutting through' versus 'sitting in' the mix?
Vinny replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
For my tuppence it depends on the song. If we're doing noisy punk-type racket then I like to not so much 'cut-through' as take the battering-ram approach. When going for more bluesy or melodic-type stuff then dial off the tone pot and just thump away underneath. This also just happens to be the sum-total of my knowledge of such things as well, which is a fine coincidence in my book! -
Double Vision are in need of a new lead fret-botherer or pot-banger. Contact through here or the above webbynet thingy. That is all. V.
Its still a good read.... http://www.thewho.ne...s/bass6768.html Also if you managed to get hold of a copy of his fantastic bass collection book "Bass Culture" keep hold as the price is now creeping up some places over £200.. not that you would let it go anyway
Had it. Only went and gave it away.....Doh!!!

And the bronze bits are gonna go all green and furry!

Forgot to add that the stuff about the prisoner sounds like horsesh*t to me. Doesn't stop it from being a fabbo looking bass, though.

What a fantastic-looking thing. WANT!!! I can see an old teardrop-needle moving coil gauge in it for no other reason than it would just fit the look of it. Lovely. (Must not go fetch toolbox, do not go fetch toolbox, you will only f*** up a perfectly good bass, do not go fetch toolbox........)
If venue/pub people weren't so vague and terrible at communication it would be OK.
This. Plus the squillions!

The recently orphaned rhythm section of State Of Grace (http://www.st8ofgrace.co.uk) are now finding themselves in need of a couple of pi**y princesses to swan about flapping their hands, going for nervous pre-gig wee-wees and spend at least 15 minutes mindlessly noodling and messing about with NASA-complicated guitar pedals making no discernible difference to the sound before deciding to use the first one they tried and spend the rest of the night moaning about how unhappy they are with it. During all of this, however, I will be doing something useful like pushing the little drummist around the car park in a Sainsbury's trolley. In other words, we find ourselves with no folk for playing guitars, singing and taking all the credit. (which is fine behavior by us) Or if you're finding yourselves thinking: "y'know - what this band REALLY needs is a drummer so Hobbitty-sized that a pint glass looks like a vase and a dirty big ugly bastid wot just stands at the back makin' thumpy noises and never smiles..." Then look no further. Should you find yourselves thinking: "an it'd be really brill if they wouldn't stop dicking about, either..." Then, what are you waiting for? Message through here or the webpage or FarceBook or Tw@tter or tin cans & string or throw stones at the window or whatever...
I'm afraid it doesn't get any clearer... I have seen these referred to as DynaBasses, but I don't know if that's correct. IIRC the only references I could find to DynaBasses online were about the late 80s model(s), which are totally different. The upshot is I haven't a clue, but I agree that they are excellent basses for the money, so that's what counts, innit?
In that case, these are super-rare, super-sexy, super-sought-after basses and the one at the top of the page is an amazing bargain. In future, can everyone start paying no less than £2500 for them, please? Worth a try, innit? Did I mention I have an orange one? It's not for sale but if this works it might be! Oh, alright, then. Just fetching my coat...
