  1. Hi. I play half our set with a pick and it suits well. That’s an old pic of me with the Orange Terror and it sounded great for old school rock, but was a bit lacking in variety for our set. The gain was difficult to tame. Really good dirt, but difficult to get just a little of it! I now use a Genzler Magellan 800 and couldn’t be happier. Great clean tones and great (switchable) dirt too. Neither of those heads walked off the cab. I had a more lightweight GK MB800 which used to move and my Quilter (another good pairing with the ST) may have done, but after the GK I started putting a non-slip mat under my heads. Depending on the sound you’re after the Quilter may be a good fit for you. It’s opposite to the Orange, in that it’s a fabulous, clean tubey sound, but difficult to get it to break up. Incidentally, I keep meaning to get around to selling mine
  2. I think from your description that you’ve made the correct choice. If you want to be sure, you’re welcome to try my ST. I’m only in Colchester
  3. Fabulous gigging bass. I have two of these, one of which was gigged regularly from the 90s up until about 5 years ago. I’m now using a Sandberg, otherwise I may be tempted. GLWTS
  4. I used an Akai Unibass pedal for years for this exact purpose. It adds an octave above plus distortion. It will also add a harmony if wanted (4th or 5th). I used it when the guitarist took a solo. Worked a treat. Unfortunately they don’t make them any longer and they have become pricey used, hence I’m considering selling mine
  5. Honestly, I’d take it off you if you were around Colchester, but I’m only really using one of my six basses as it is, so it’s difficult to justify travelling. Besides, I’ve seen the weather forecast 😊
  6. Somebody buy this! I don’t want to drive to Eastbourne!

  13. Thanks. Can't seem to adjust the price now though...
  14. Thanks for the heads up mate
  15. Pedal clearout The following are surplus to requirements: Big Muff Pi - £45 posted. Only for sale as I upgraded to deluxe version Zoom B2 - £40 posted. I only bought this as I know that the tuners are good in Zoom boxes, but it actually turned out to have decent, giggable sounds Micro Pog - £85 posted. Please note that the LED does not light when the effect is engaged. This is reflected in the price. All pedals have been gigged and mounted to my board at some time, so have signs of use. There are no boxes or power supplies. I am in Colchester and you are welcome to come and try
  16. Sorry, I need to sell, as I had promised the other half I was going to thin the herd and then bought a Musicman! Ooops! :-)
  17. Fantastic CIJ Aerodyne Jazz. This is one of the 'not for export' models made for the Japanese home market, in Candy Apple Red. I bought this new in early 2008 and it has spent most of its life as wall decoration. It has only seen a handful of gigs as, although it is lightweight, I find the Jazz body to be too big to fit me comfortably for extended periods. Regrettably, much as I love the sound (I have mostly used her for recording), it is time to move her on, as I have bought a more gig-friendly (for me) MusicMan Sterling. Collect from Colchester, or meet within reasonable distance. Will also be driving to Chiswick/W London on Thursday this week (12 April). Can take more pics - just let me know what you want to see
  18. Is this sold?
