1. Haha! The shots were upright on my phone, but turned when I uploaded them and can't see any way to turn them back! The sound is very full. Until you hear it you wouldn't believe what these 5" speakers can put out. They are completely uncoloured, so there is no over-enhanced bottom end that you usually get with bass cabs, not a lot of muddy boom. You just hear the natural tone of the instrument
2. This Phil Jones Bass Compact 8 was only bought in May, so is virtually as new. Only gigged a handful of times. Although I don't play EUB there are many reviews online raving about this as a cab for EUB. It is very transparent and very capable. The 8 x 5" speakers are very transparent and with a rating of 800W this 4 ohm cab can handle almost anything you throw at it. Full bottom end without any boom and incredible clarity. Price is for collection from Colchester, but can arrange to meet within a reasonable distance. Built in trolley is very handy and if you use it on an angled stand it stops your head from falling off the back! TC Classic 450 head is also available £275 Details here: http://philjonesbass...duct/compact-8/
3. Thanks for the offer, but I have a Barefaced on order, so just after cash offers. Cheers
4. Price drop. TC head now £280 and PJB cab £490
5. Doh! The 8B is the neo equipped one, but is 400w as opposed to this which is 800w
6. PJB cab back on sale as deal didn't complete
7. PJB cab now on hold. TC head still available
8. The TC450 Classic is exactly the same tonally as the RH450 just without the switchable presets and tuner
9. The 8x5" speakers in the PJB are very articulate and even sounding across the board and not lacking in the low end at all. The lows are present and full without being boomy. If you like a lot of fat low end this is not the cab for you, but if you like the natural tone of your bass and want to hear it uncoloured this cab is perfect.
10. TC head gigged for a couple of years, now surplus to requirements. £280 collected from Colchester PJB cab is virtually mint, only gigged a handful of times. Everybody should know how good PJB gear is. It's a fantastic little cab - 8x5" speakers, 800W, 4 Ohms. It even has a trolley built into it! It measures 640x320x360 mm and weighs 26 Kg. Very transparent and I have read (although I've never tried it) that it is also a brilliant cab for EUB. £490 collected from Colchester. Prefer collection or meet up within a reasonable distance, but can also post at buyer's expense
11. Might be interested in the Quilter, as I'm looking for more output than I get from my TC Classic 450, since recently buying a lovely but very power-hungry PJB cab. I've read good things about the Quilter, but never heard one. I like a clean transparent sound that cuts through the mix. Can it get that sort of tone?
12. I had a guitar tech friend fit a small toggle switch into my P Lyte about 20 years ago, which bypasses the active circuitry. Obviously this affects the sound, but it acts as a comforting failsafe to be able to switch to passive mode in case of battery failure
13. Sorry BT. I wasn't ignoring you, I actually withdrew this from sale a couple of weeks ago (or at least thought I had - maybe I didn't save changes) and I hadn't been back in here for a while. I decided to keep it as, although I rarely play it, I've sold guitars before and regretted it (and my girlfriend said she'll buy me a lightweight bass for xmas :-)) Hope you've had some luck finding something.
14. I use the Unibass in a three piece to beef up behind guitar solos and, as already stated, you wouldn't want to listen to that sound in isolation, BUT, provided you only want to use it to thicken the sound rather than to be prominent, it is more than adequate. The pedal also has the facility to split the signal, so depending on the gig, I send the 'guitar' signal to a guitar combo, giving me more control and getting a more 'guitarry' sound. Tracking is good as long as you play cleanly and firmly. I only ever use the octave as I found the added 4th and 5th too much at times and it highlighted any slight tracking out. As far as power supply goes, when my original gave up after 4-5 years I just sourced one on ebay with the correct specs for around £7 and have been using it a couple of gigs a week for the last 2 years or so
15. Does anybody know of a bridge that will fit a P-Lyte? It is fitted with the original Fender one, but over the years my sweaty hands have rusted the adjusters to the point that they are no longer useable. Any advice appreciated. Cheers
16. Hi there. I don't recall ever seeing a Bass Collection with through body construction, but there is a Facebook group for the SGC Nanyo Bass Collection. SGC Nanyo were the original manufacturers and, going by the date yours should be one of these. I would try the FB group - maybe someone on there can help you: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=1223...1404&v=wall

18. Very nice. I'd be interested if I wasn't looking for something lighter. Have a return bump. Cheers
19.
Hmm - don't suppose you're interested in a trade? Warwick Corvette FS/FT Anyhow, bump for a beautiful-looking bass.
Thanks! I actually would be interested if it was lighter - looks lovely!
20.
Are they heavy? I always thought the aeros were pretty light?
They are light compared with a standard bass, but I'm used to a Precision Lyte, which is VERY light and small-bodied. I don't know whether it is the weight or the size and shape, but the Jazz gives me a bad back, so reluctantly has to go
