  1. As much as I have a thing for white basses, that new paint job is lush. Job well done.
  2. Love the grunt out of that. Very impressed indeed. Some serious arm twisting needed there Dood 😀
  3. I’d be very interested to hear this on bass.
  4. Ha - I had considered ‘Mellowship Slinky in B Major’.
  5. Forgot to add the signal chain - Fender Player Precision > Ditto Looper > Nano Q-Tron > computer. No eq or compression (not that that isn’t obvious 😀)
  6. And here you go. Rough and ready but hopefully enough of an idea of what's going on.
  7. Can't - having much too much fun playing to stop and record something I'll try figure something out over the weekend - not the most technically minded here.
  8. Oh, and on a side note - my Nano Q-Tron arrived today. In short: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Exactly!!! And the defence rests its case.
  10. But if at the start of this week you have, say, 10 pedals - then you sell one and buy the Q-Tron, then at the end of the week you’ll still have 10 pedals. I think that still qualifies for abstinence club membership. 😀
  11. I still look forlornly at my Mini sitting on the shelf and have to resist the urge to plug it in. My speakers would never forgive me.
  12. Thanks for the reminder - just ordered.
  13. I’ll be the odd one out and stick the tuner at the end, so COMP > DRIVE > PRE > TUNER. The tuner as a mute at the end is like a comfort blanket for me. Doesn’t feel that way if it’s at the start. I do know there is zero logic in that.
  14. You could go Modern Vintage 😀 Check out the reviews from Ed Friedland and Hondo Felder. Ed’s video is about a J but it’ll give you an idea of quality. I have a Modern Vintage Fretless Jazz - all good, and feels plenty old and worn in - the neck really is a beautiful thing.
  15. Just goes to show how some things others deem offensive can go over your head. I’ve been listening to ‘Sex Murder Art’ and all things Slayer since I was 10 in 1987 - for that particular lyric I’ve only ever heard the line from ‘violate…’, never once noticed it said ‘Take my fist’. While we’re on Slayer, I’ve never found them offensive in any way. And in ways that they could be seen as offensive, I think it’s no different that watching something like ‘Schindler’s List’. I don’t find that movie offensive at all, but I’m certainly never watching it again, it’s so damn disturbing. But there lies the point - it brings out attention to the truly disturbing things in real life, same as ‘Angel Of Death’ or any of the many serial killer songs Slayer has.
  16. It’s simple: Anything At Anytime For No Reason At All. (Or words to that effect)
  17. I have a Hofner Senator - it might not be 100% the same width throughout but it’s not far off. Makes finger style playing feel a little clumsy if you’re used to regular string spacing. Pick playing fares much better.
  18. Hmmm, that’s an odd one. I had one of these years ago, I don’t think I even had a way of powering it with 18volts so it must have been with 9v and it worked fine, from memory.
  19. I’m fairness, I am just stirring the pot - I have both 😜 (sorry for the derail, I am LOVING following this thread)
  20. Blasphemy!!!!!!
  21. You are a legend sir. Eternal thanks for doing these and sharing. Just had a lot of fun reading/playing what I could of ‘Senor Mouse’. The solo sections are going to take some work!!
  22. Cellist-ish here. I teach it, although I don’t play it by choice (the education system has strings split into Upper and Lower string tutors, so I teach about 85% cello to 15% double bass.) Anyhow, advice to start with would be to get your scales/arpeggios together - if for no other reason than to gain familiarity with strings tuned in 5ths. For a long time I couldn’t improvise on a cello as my fingers would default to the shapes they’re comfortable with. Reading parts was a lot easier, probably because I was only focusing on playing the part and not creating it. Hope that makes sense.
  23. Had a lot of fun playing along with the Barry White and TOP grooves last night. Many thanks.
  24. Absolute shame. Met her years ago when the band I was in did a session on her show. She couldn’t have been more hospitable and welcoming. RIP.
