3. Regarding an extension cabinet would there be a loss of sound/quality between a 10 meter cable and a 5 meter cable?
4. Years ago I recorded my own backing tracks on a Fostex Cassette multi-track recorder. Unknown to me at the time and after mixdown to a CD, the tape was running about a half a tone flat. My question is: Can the results on the CD be transfered to a CD to the correct pitch---440.? If so,who would I get in touch with?
5. Has anyone tried the Audio-Technica AT4041 Condenser Mic for your D/B? If so, was it suitable?
6. Milt Hinton--'The Judge'---One of the greats of jazz DB. So swinging, so solid. That's how it should be.

9. If anybody requires to fit a jack to the DB tailpiece Basschat'er 'bassace' can supply a small attachment that you mount onto the DB tailpiece that does just that. Very easy to fit---works well.
10. Does anyone know where I can obtain aircraft stranded stainless steel cable in the UK --for fixing DB tailpiece to end pin?
11. Does anyone know where to obtain in the those 1/4" jack socket 'holders' that fix to the DB tailpiece so you can plug the amp lead into? I think they attach to the underside of one of the ball end strings. Or know of any other method available? Thanks
12. I have seen musicians on the bandstand reading the dots/chords using today's 'Technoligy'---no sheet music or chord books. What equipment do the use? (--ie:--iPad?) What programme (App?) would they use to write in their own programme? Hope the above question is clear. Time to eliminate my many chord books!
13. Thanks for the info.
14. Thanks again for your good knowledge gentleman--I will go for the Celestion eight 15 and give that a try. gypsyjazzer.
15. Thanks guys for the replies. My knowledge of speakers is zilch--so hence question. I have no documentation with the amp. (Peavey 'Solo' Battery/Mains amp--rated at 15W mains and 10W battery) No impedance marked on the speaker--no wattage marked. Just a few no's and 'Made in China'. Yes, question has been asked before. I have been told that I needed a 4ohm rated speaker, but posted again for a 'second opinion'. I was thinking of getting Celestion Eight 15 speaker--good choice? The existing speaker has been tested on another amp--same problem--distortion.
16. I want to replace a speaker in a small guitar amp--max. output is 15W. the speaker size is 8" Dia. Is it OK to go for a speaker rated at 8 ohm?
17. Hi geoffbassist Many thanks for your reply--most helpful.

22. Can anybody recommend a CD player that will slow down the music but keep the pitch of the music being played--for transcription purposes?
23. Many thanks guys for all your useful info.
24. I have a Peavy 'Solo' mains/battery guitar amp (Not for putting my D/B through I might add!!!)---max.15W output---in need of a new quality 8inch 4ohm speaker. Does anyone know where I can obtain one? Question: Not knowing a thing about speakers what wattage of speaker can I go up to? Question: Do the terms: 'Driver' / 'Sub-Woofer' come into this? Do I avoid these speakers? Are those speakers for cars? Hi-Fi?
25. Thanks 'thisnameistaken' for your reply. Has your laminated bass a spruce top?--or is it the back & sides that are laminated? I have a fair knowledge of guitars and I do know that a guitar with a solid spuce top but laminated back & sides makes a guitar a lot louder than a guitar with solid wood sides. Solid wood tends to absorb some of the sound. A good setup on any stringed instrument is very important.
