1. I want a twin soapbar 5 string with a maple fretboard and no position markers.
 2. I found the bass by mistake. I also played drums at a jam night last night. I was awful after not playing for several years.
 3. We all have sh*tty days. I think as a community we are above calling out people for their music. That was the point I wanted to get across before but couldn't.
 4.
which post made you feel uncomfortable and sad,? anyways no probs buddy.
This one
not so spot on when he's hitting the right note but on on the wrong time/drums at the start. intricate bass playing over a Key's solo.? its too much. give other musicians some space. he's not listening to the drummer either in parts. just my OP
The original post was fine from a critique of the style. When it just gets to be highlighting someones timing issues it saddens me.
 5.
it was just an observation. maybe save the sarcasm for some other chump... i was just pointing out some something that Thurbs might not have heard. maybe i should have worded it better.
Come on man, you put yourself out there with this thread in the same way he put himself out there with his video. I was trying to be light hearted about it but I have to be honest the post I quoted made me feel a little uncomfortable and sad. I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone.
 6. I like having a compressor I change my dynamics quite a lot over the course of a song and don't really want a massive change in volume. I could manually turn down but that is a faff. Usually the guitarists I play with are going through small valve amps that squash like mad too.
 7.
not so spot on when he's hitting the right note but on on the wrong time/drums at the start. i like to follow my side man when it comes to the rhythm section. intricate bass playing over a Key's solo.? its too much. give other musicians some space. he's not listening to the drummer either in parts. just my OP
You should record a battle video of you doing the song post it to Youtube and show him who is boss.
 8. Only listened to the first 1 and a half minutes on my tablet but it sounded appropriate to me.
 9.
There is a lot of truth in the 'headline' band being THE band that most want to see. Otherwise, you'll just try and pick the best slot with the most people there and sometimes that definitely isn't last on the bill...
We were asked to be headliners at some festival last year, i.e. go on last. The band leader asked for an earlier slot so he could get his kid home at a reasonable hour
 10.
Hell, since the varitone takes the place of the tone control in active mode for the 80s SB-1000s
Been thinking about this. The tone control still works when in active mode though, that's not what you meant is it.
 11. 1990 to 1994 second series SB1000s were 2 pick up. Allegedly
 12. I quite often find myself listening to recordings, enjoying the bass sounds and wondering how they got there or who the bassist was. A good example would be Anthony Jackson using a P bass with a pick through a flanger on the O'Jays tunes or Marcus Miller (presumably his Jazz bass) on Donald Fagen's Nightfly (also featuring my favourite drummer Jeff Pocaro). Anyway more recent examples I'm less sure about, although have a pretty good idea. Jarekus Singleton's band has Ben Sterling on bass. Ben is endorsed by Clevenger Guitars and is seen live playing his twin soap bar 5 string through a Hartke rig. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ_azqy6Sb0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGQ1Zc7VUDQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8KXdBrB991g Sound like that's what he used on the album? That hifi church sound?
 13.
In my book, basses like the SB-1000 are the "new vintage" which can be seen with prices going sillier each year.
I'm not so sure. Mine was up for sale for 15 months with only silly offers made.
 14. I need just 1 bass and it could be an old clonker to be honest. Want is a whole different story.
 15.
Ant... if you want a go on the groundwounds, I'll take the SB-900 to this month's Pelton Jam (BH Sunday). Pete.
I should be able to make it thanks for the offer. I played with Dennis a couple of weeks ago, great fun.
 16.
The signature can be anyone who receives the package on your behalf. It's a proof of delivery only.
That doesn't extend to the driver though does it?
 17.
Midtfyns festival Ant, bout '96, we stayed for the whole weekend so i got to see zz top, Blur, and Maiden of course among others.
Excellent.
 18.
Supported Iron Maiden in Denmark in front of 25,000 'eadbangers, nuffin to it.. (Shudder)
Blimey!
 19. Something in the back of my head says I have to use rotos on mine. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTYwMFgxMjEx/z/Jf4AAOxynRRSRQge/$T2eC16hHJIUFHHV(h+OIBSRQgWpTs!~~60_3.JPG
 20. What strings are you going for? Seeing as I'm keeping mine now I thought about treating it to some new ones.
 21. I doubt Thomann have any contract with Parcel force, they just get assigned when it arrives in the country.
 22. The drumsets are wonderful as well, and the pianos and brass instruments come to that.
