Stalled a little while I was saving for nitro and building up to stripping the poly off. Well I changed my mind on both. I've gone for acrylic now. Have sealed and sanded the neck, I think I'll seal again for luck then mask the headstock off. Primed the body today and it will need a little bit of rework on the back of the upper cutaway and the gut cutout. Nothing major and can all be done within the thickness of primer.

So is the 1024 not as good as the older BBs then?

Was messing about this morning and wanted to have a go at getting something recorded ad youtubed. The footage is form an Autorikshaw ride in the Mumbai district of Powai. The music is a midi loop for drums and a single take of bass and guitar using presets in Garageband. The whole workflow is so stripped down compared to what I used to have and I'm encouraged to keep it mega simple and see what I can come up with. First couple of listens I wasn't impressed. I've been eagerly waiting for this so maybe that is no surprise. Their formula of taking popular throwaway songs and doing their thing to them has obviously resulted in them writing a throwaway pop song and doing their thing to it. The trouble is their throwaway song is poor. the lyrics are sh*t, and it speaks to a narrow audience IMHO. I think they'll do well in Asia, I think they have a chance of capturing the minds of youth that might otherwise be drawn into other forms of music, but I have a feeling their song writing just wont be good enough to get big airplay. Still enjoy listening though and after 20 listens it is quite catching

Agree with all that, just a "Thanks for letting me know, wish you all the best". I'd love to be fishing the Thames, I fished Eynsham a couple of years back, loved it.

When I wanted to buy myself a Fender bass which was a fair amount of money for me to be spending I wanted to make sure I was getting the right one. I played lots and lots in every shop I went to all over the world. The differences between them were quite marked and I do find that a lot of objects have a certain something that a supposedly identical wont. Additionally I think that the ownership can be enhanced by memories of purchase etc. So for me buying my bass from World Music in Nashville was absolutely better than buying an similar model online.

Just got to hear it today. Really enjoyable. Good work. I'm thinking about making the trip to Dalston, but I really dislike trying to get home from there on a Tuesday night

This is why I bought a VM Squier because it doesn't have the ugly hogged out body.

I've really been thinking about that a lot and I'm working on every single part playing the instrument. Just a shame I wasted 35 years by not paying attention in school more
