I used google and got

Fender - http://www.richtonemusic.co.uk/products/fender_9050_bass_strings_stainless_steel_flatwound_9050-5l_040-_125_set_of_5.asp
A valve amp needs all sorts of high voltages that a solid state amp doesn't.
My transformers I had wound recently are huge to provide the 550V on the HT side, plus windings for the 6.4V heaters and a 5V for the rectifier.
My Wife walked in to Hans Zimmer - You're So Cool (you might know it from True Romance

and our first dance was the Cure - Feels like heaven (poor version by our wedding band unfortunately)
If it is good enough for Juan and Tommy it is good enough for me.
To be honest I'm in two minds about the look but the reason for buying this body was that it was a Squier without the ugly routing, so the point is to have no guard.
Body turned up yesterday and I offered up the CV scratch plate I have knocking about. It is no where near fitting. the control plate is really wide (and nasty looking).
So I'm thinking about saving some effort and going for a no guard holes look and losing that option. Like this but with a matching headstock.
Considering even some USA made Fenders have nasties under the scratch plate now I can't imagine Squier would waste any money on doing it nicely when they don't have to. Good thinking though.
That would look good, but I don't like the colour. I thought about Capri Orange as it goes well with the maple, I like orange but do already have an orange P (not the one in the picture).
Still deciding. The trouble with going for the maple cap is getting it to look right with a matching headstock. I think too light a colour (ie white) wont work. So right now I'm thinking Sonic Blue or Shoreline Gold. I've also got a white jazz bass already.
