1. This year I bought a CV Jazz and really like it, what I don't like is the dodgy pick up routing behind the scratch plate. I love this guitar owned by Juan Alderete and his Lakland version I also love this So with all that being said I decided to buy this Which is the Squier VM 'Jaco'ish fretless. And this Mighty Mite neck (sans decal). Watch this space.
2. I decided to look at the notes in the blues bass book for hoochie coochie man. I learned it and realised it actually hasn't improved my ability on the bass. Jeff Berlin was right.
3. I've been thinking about this for a couple of days. I think the one that really stuck out and stuck in my mind was when we saw the HArlem Gospel Choir at BB KIng's. Hartke cab was all I can remember. The Ben L'Oncle Soul thing from Jools Holland is probably the best I've heard on TV but I know a few of you think it too trebly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boXcU9o0v3g
4. Sonic Blue mid 60s no relic, matching headstock with the pickguard taken off.
5. Actually ended up doing Stone Roses Fools Gold and Long Hot Summer by the Style council.
6. Just learned You've got the love for something to do other than drink tea in my tea break. The low D took me a couple of listens to get (especially as I only have a 4 string) but my ear training seems to be helping. Might do groove is in the heart later.
7. When I saw Cream, Jack sat down for most of it.
8. Just thought I'd report back. Installed them the other night and they are not as high tension on my Jazz as the LaBella .105 set are on my P bass. Nice strings, pretty smooth out of the bag the green silk is pretty too

12. Bought a gigf bag from Scooby, he communicated well during the entire transaction and it got to me exactly when promised. The condition was perfect as expected. Thanks
13.
Besides which , South Korea decided a long time ago to ally itself to the West
I only just recently looked up the history of the Korean split. Very interesting story.
14.
In recent years I've played regularly through ... Ashdown Ampeg Mesa Phil Jones Markbass Ibanez ... usually playing a Fender but sometimes ... Squier Guild Takamine G&L Aria Lakland ... and they all sounded great. They were all better at doing their job than me.
I'm with you, there are just a lot of times where it doesn't matter what your starting point is as long as it is within the realms of a certain quality. i.e covering the frequencies it needs to. A good example of this is different versions of blue songs. Some guys on ultra modern active basses with super deep Nate East type tone others on a P with the most chicken grease laden flats. Given an adequate amount of talent both can sound amazing and relevant.
15.
Or to have a root through Uncle Horrid's garage/workshop!
This ^^^
16.
But then of course it won't feel the same when you play it and it won't be a Palladino.
The feeling the same is just the neck relic though right? I'd be happy with it not being a Palladino to be honest.
17. Can you get one they haven't messed the paint up on?
18.
It's the scorpion of basses.
