we had a good night at a pub a few miles away, well, it went alright apart from breaking an A string, thats the second A string in a matter of a couple of months, coincidence i suppose. although i do it em hard with a plec. i only have the one bass so i had to change the string on the spot. the k/board player and singer did a jim reeves number while they waited for some reason, got the punters laughing though. time to buy a back up bass i think. the landlord likes us and gave us another booking in january.

Nicky wire appears to be playing a red ultra sparkle one one at Reading. cant say i'm struck on the sound.

It looks nice from what i can see, those are really poor photos if you are selling a bass.

I think that Pbass has gone way past tacky and is coming around to being something i could play for a laugh onstage.

I'm tempted. but it's slighty more than i want to pay for a bass to play around the house. nice though. I work a three shift system. days, afternoons and nights. if i'n unlucky enough to get a gig falling on a friday evening when i'm on afternoons, and i usually know in advance when i'm gigging, i book a days holiday. as i say i have to let my firm know well in advance.

I put an add in one of those find a band member sites this afternoon just to see what would happen. i have had one reply. from a guy wanting to know if wanted to join a country band playing the likes of Brad Paisley. i have'nt a clue who he is, its a start i suppose.

Now you have me thinking . i thought that bit at the top was the guy taking the photo highlighted by the sun behind him.
