17.
I have a new CIJ jazz and want to fit chrome ashtray p/up covers. Two questions - is it obvious where the bridge cover goes? The front is no problem as the pickguard has holes already. Secondly, what screws are used? Where can I get them? I assume they are round headed type and not CSK like the pickguard screws. Cheers Ian
I was wondering about this when i was going to fit mine. i had a look at various pics on here and there did not seem to be definate position. one had the bridge pup peeking out and another you could not see the pup, i just put it where it was not touching the back of the bridge and made sure it was straight.
 18.
And for you BC'ers who've asked to see the cause of all my woe, here it is... I dub thee "Heartbreaker". 1975 Precision in a transparent Mocha finish. 100% original apart from the pickup (the original is in a drawer somewhere and may make a reappearance soon). Quite unusual and one that brings all the bass players up from the audience "Hey Pal can I have a look at that old Precision of yours..." Possibly the nicest bass I've ever played (when I can hear it). Can't remember what dimension neck it is, but it's a beauty.
Nice. anytime you want to part with it. let me know. . and sorry to read of your problem.
 19. I used to play one of these in a band a while ago ,, bugger to move around, but what a sound it makes in a band invironment.
 20.
Any of you catch Top of the Pops 2 on Dave tonight? Quantum Jump on there and the Wal with the leather (I think) pickguard/scratchplate. Think I remember reading somewhere that that was the first Wal, not sure though. Anyway it looked and sounded good, even though I always thought the record a bit of an iffy one. All the best, Gary.
Here's some totp2 archive, but i can't find Quantum Jump. pity. 21.
These are my '78 fretless with EMG pickups and my new US made '57 re-issue. The fretless is pretty heavy but is a beast (in a good way) and the '57 is probably the bass I would keep if I could only have one. Still looking out for a nice old P Bass. Just not found the one yet. Neil.
I dont know if its possible. but have you tried swapping the necks?
 22. City of blinding lights by U2. Adam Clayton is not too taxing.
