I have a MiM Fender jazz fitted with Wizard 84's i noticed last night at practie the E string was a lot louder than the other strings i had'nt noticed this before but last night we had the volume cranked up a bit more than usual. and the more i listened the more annoying it got. i'm sure i've read somewhere on Basschat this is usual on some jazz basses. can it be cured? i'm looking for a Badass bridge, don't know if this would make any difference, Ta.

Or more importantly Jim Lea's. i always thought he played a Gibson, it was a John Birch. http://www.crazeeworld.plus.com/pages/slade_site/gear.htm
MB1. You might be better asking the manufacturers of this product these questions, as i know a lot of bass players on the forum use miners pit helmets when theyre gigging to light theyre fret boards in low light, they also look great too! damn sight cheaper than this fangled technology!.
What happens when you look at the audience, your going to blind someone. Help - wearing the skin away on my right wrist!
beerdragon replied to nick's topic in General Discussion
I'd say that's good advice! However, I received the same advice "change your technique" when I went to see a physio clinic thing about an RSI in my wrist. I really can't think of ways to change the way I play that will benifit my wrist. Are there websites around? Or tutorials and things? I have been playing quite a long time, and used to teach guitar, and thought my bass techniques were ok but..... obviously not.
This has been posted before, but i'm sure the original poster would'nt mind it going up again, maybe a sticky. Nice! did'nt think it was too trebley. you have good sounding band there. if you dont mind me saying the bass part of Stone cold stare reminds of U2's New Years day. Just because our guitar player wants us to learn it. i've played a few places in Rhyl. one Hotel, the Avon,we played downstairs and we used to get taxi messages through our speakers.

I know it's a guitar but i thought it funny, probably used by That Petrol Emotion http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Electric-jerry-can-s...1QQcmdZViewItem

It was only after i posted it i noticed the date, I saw the gossip on T in the Park and they did have a bass player. i would have liked to have seen the Doors live without a bass player.

At our last gig i wore one of these http://www.play.com/Clothing/T-Shirts/4-/1...ic/Product.html it went down a bomb. every one's asking where can i get one. of course if you play at any kind of volume the things always lit up!

Silly article on the bands such as the White Stripes who don't bother with a bass player and maybe others will follow suit, http://www.sptimes.com/2003/06/29/Floridia..._the_Bass.shtml

A Wedding set list is make or break i think, i know a local band who were are asked to leave half way through their set because they just did'nt go down at all. but you say they are'nt a typical couple so maybe there guests are'nt either, tough one. A wedding band has to have a pretty big set list to cover any eventuality from Motown to pop ballads to rocknroll, i suppose her'e a typical wedding set list by a band i know. Commodores Three Times a Lady Rod Stewart/ Van Morrison Have I Told You Lately Moondance Lonestar Amazed Gareth Gates etc Unchained Melody Harry Connick Jnr It Had To Be You Beatles Something Till There Was You Enrique Iglesias Hero Wet Wet Wet Love Is All Around Elvis Presley The Wonder of You Jamie Cullom Beyond the Sea Frank Sinatra Come Fly with Me Bryan Adams Heaven Bread Make It With You Westlife Flying Without Wings Paul Weller You Do Something To Me Ronan Keating When You Say Nothing At All Bee Gees/Boyzone Words Savage Garden Truly, Madly, Deeply Robbie Williams She's The One Percy Sledge When a Man Loves a Woman Eric Clapton Wonderful Tonight Lou Reed Perfect Day Sting Fields of Gold Dr Hook A Little Bit More Eagles Best of My Love Elton John Your Song
Ta. Actually I'd come across this web site before, but as replicas of other maufacturers instruments don't really appeal to me I hadn't bothered book marking it. Also does anyone else think there's something wrong with a site that gives over more screen to show of the 'web designers' skills than pictures of the instruments themselves?
The sites not a great advert for his instruments, difficult to navigate i thought., i gave up after a while.
top to bottom; 1975 Fender Mustang Bass, January 2006 Fender Highway1 Jazz Bass (it was originally Satin Lacquer, i've just worn the finish down a bit), 2005 Squier California Jazz Bass (originally black; I'm in the process of re-finishing it). The Mustang isn't strictly mine, but my dad never plays it. It's always in my room, so I say it's in my posession Fender Jazz Bass; I bought a black control plate from ebay, and I want to make a transparent scratch plate to show off the finish underneath it. I'll be getting a Badass II bridge sometime soon. Squier Jazz Bass; I need to get a new neck and tuner set for it, as they are of typical Squier quality; shithouse. The tuners buzz, and the truss rod is buggered. I'm looking at a Warmoth Maple neck for it, but I won't buy that for a while. I'll end up replacing the whole thing over time. I play through a Genz Benz M-Line 200W combo box with 2x10" speakers. I have 2x12" JBLs sitting around, but the cab is stuffed, so I can't use them. I'll probably need to just make a new cab rather than stuff around with the current POS i have. The Genz Benz isn't bad, but I sorely want an Ampeg system. The 4 figure price tag puts me off, though Hope you like my stuff Lee
What's the black control made out of low note lee
As well as Bernard Edwards (Chic/Sister Sledge), its worth checking out Verdine White (Earth Wind and Fire) Louis Johnson (Bros Johnson) Rutger Gunnarsson (Abba) Johnny Flippin (Fatback Band) Robert "Kool" Bell (Kool and the Gang) Hamish Stuart (Average White Band) and I guess you could also include Maurice Gibb (Bee Gees)
I'm puzzled by the Maurice Gibb one. apart from the early days i'd of thought he would have never been near a recording seesion with a bass.

Correct, probably the going rate.
