I think it's down to what bass you use with two of my Shuker passive basses I have the pre shape on , & my two active Shukers I have the pre shape off .
I was quite surprised to see Mark with a 6 string , I just can't get my head around mine & nearly imposible to do 4 string slap style on , that C string really gets in the way .
this was my first amp with matching 4x12 cab I loved it & I thought it was plenty loud enough , someone showed me how to connect the two channels for better eq as I didn't drive at the time I traded it for a peavey black widow mrk3 combo .
I have the a ABM1000 , ABM400 & JJB head all great amps , The ABM has a adjustable filter on the inside that was turned down because it blew Ampeg 8x10s , back up is great .
I'm 54 & I'd enjoy gigging if I had a roadie or worked with guys that pulled their weight , Other wise I'm just as happy to do the odd session or occasionally pick up my acoustic bass at home .I don't miss packing up after a gig especially if no one helps with my PA .
When I got my Shuker JJB, Jon set it up the same as JJ has his & I was expecting it to be High . I've also had a go on one of Mr Kings Alembics & I was surprised how high that action was .
So if a venue says they only book duos I wonder how they would react if we turned up with my singer /drummer & his Roland kit & me with my Roland Gr55 all going through my PA ... should I explain to them first ? I'm thinking that they won't have a clue what I'm talking about .
I don't really see the point in a really light weight bass head when you still have to get a cab that weighs around 30lbs ? Am I the only person to think this ?

I think it's a special Geezer Butler signature head
