I have two super compacts & the trouble is that one will do most gigs ,But two sound better moving so much more air , the same as with any cab i suppose .

So I spent a whole evening , comparing my Ashdown ABM1000 against my Ashdown JJB head both sound different to each other but I just couldn't decide which one I liked best ..hole evening wasted .

My preferred set up would be Ashdown ABM 4 x 10 & 1 x 15 but I can't deal with the weight these days , & I just seen a BF 4 x10 on here after a exchange & was wondering if that would get me closer , Until Ashdown come up with something that is .

Has anyone compared these two sound wise ? I have the super compacts .cheers

My Friend Razzel RIP ( went on to drum for Hanoi Rocks ) took me up to see The Who & The Stranglers at Wembley when I was 14 & I came away thinking I'm getting a bass .

Shuker 36" Designed to have a piano /alembic tone with built in Roland Midi pick up , Shuker JJB Roland GR55 also used for main tone modelling Ashdown ABM1000 Ashdown Labs 500 pre JJB head .....Still can't decide which one I prefer as both are very different & I like both 2 x Root Master cabs with Sica drivers ....but always looking at cab options

after last nights gig I think i'll give up , The drummer & guitarist will not back off the volume .Grrrrrr!

I forgot to mention that if you upgrade to the Sica drivers you need to also upgrade the tweeters To eminence AT80s .I've removed mine completely .

it turned out to be a wire resting against the back of the cone .

I'd stick a Fender label on the head stock with blue tack .

I think I have more amps than basses , It's amps that get me .

Getting Jon Shuker to build one to my own spec ..no more GAS ...well I might get him to do a 5 string version

Using a Ashdown 4 x 8 speaker at band practice the other day I thought that one of the speakers had blown I backed off the bass to get through the rehearsal but after about 15 minutes it cleared up ? the next day I had the speakers checked & all of them were ok , The only thing I noticed was that one of the speakers had quite a bit of sawdust around the inside edge of the cone that took ages to clean out . It does have two circular bass ports with plastic inserts & maybe one of those was vibrating ? any thoughts ease as I'm a bit nervous about gigging it , cheers .

I just gave a load of stuff to auction for a local Hospice other wise I would have sent it all up .what a nice thing to do .

At last nights gig , everything sounded great & then in the 2nd set everything sounded dramatically louder & slightly overdriven , No one had changed there volume ? perhaps we all started digging in more to keep up with the drummer who seemed to be getting into it more or everyone hit the dance floor changing the acoustics ...I wonder what it was? as it was dramatic , the place did have a very low ceiling ?

I was using BF super compacts at £560 each , I got a Ashdown RM12" for £270 to use at Home & I now use 2 of them & some times a Neo 4 x8 cab that I got for a silly price on here .
