Does anyone have a Headed & headless version of the same bass ? is there any tone/ string tension difference.

I might stretch to £800 ish .

For some reason I've got it in my head that i want one, Any suggestions on a £500-£700 budget would be welcome .

You can get the boss Tu2 as a free app I have a Peterson rack tuner but it's So accurate it can take a while in a live situation , I use it for set ups .

I'm intrigued by these basses , Do they use double ball end strings ?

I've had MB & TC stuff , But the Ashdown ABM 1000 & 400 are fantastic IMHO , they will still build them to order .

I thought I better mention I'm not including the bass ,set up or way you play ..just the bass amp & speakers .

My choice is based on it being made in the UK & weight mainly, But once you get into a certain budget say anything above £350 per cab & £500 for the head does it really make any difference ? reliability & customer service is also a consideration I suppose . I was thinking about how many rigs Mark King has had & He always sounds like Mark King .

I've just ordered five of them ,

I use to have the standard version , the idea of this one was that it was tuned to C the idea being to able to play low keyboard type stuff . That's what Chris May told me anyway at the time (1984 ish .)

I can't wait to try these with my ABM1000 , unbelievable price , 2 cabs for the price of one of my Barefaced cabs & in the same weight range .

[/quote] definitely louder as I owned 3 MB heads at one point & spent hours A/B ing them The MB mrk3 & Little Rocker were a lot louder than the 800w head regardless of what you did with the EQ . Interestingly there was very little difference between the 250w mo mark & the 500w heads , based on getting the same tone . As for all the technical talk I don't have a clue , as long as it does what I've paid it to do .
