That info was from Lee , they do offer a bag . It's a shame as I know quite a few people like myself that play in Pub /club bands that keep their heads in a flight case with a tuner Because we have all learnt the lesson of putting stuff in the back of the van. I might consider the lightweight ABM but that is considerably heavier than my Mark bass little Rocker . Just had an email from Mark & they will be doing them in a couple of weeks time

Just got an email from Ashdown & they don't do rack ears for the Rootmaster
Ashdown does offer rack ears for the RootMaster series.
I can't see them on the web site & they don't seem to answer my emails ? I try my best to support British companies , that's why I have a couple of Shukers a Barefaced cab. But two Markbass heads & a TC. all of them had excellent customer support ....Even though I do tend to ask a few questions .
Nice review, I`ve been looking at these for a while. Never bought into the "woolly Ashdown" thing - if Bruce Foxton and JJ Burnell use them - and have seen/heard them do so - they have enough top-end. In fact seeing Bruce Foxton using an Ashdown stack a couple of weeks ago has made me start looking at Ashdown, just waiting for a retailer near enough to me to see if for one I like the RootMaster tone, and secondly if the cabs will fit in my car!
I've also seen Mark King using them & you can't call his sound woolly .
-
is this the Root Master your talking about ?
-
Just watching the demo the only concern I have is that the chap has the volume up pretty high & he is sat right next to it & it's mic'd up ( will it be loud enough )& does it have a head phone socket? I like the idea of the Drive & the Sub as my band do Peter Gabriels Sledge Hammer & some Stranglers covers , So hopefully will do away with the effect pedals I use .

If they did Rack ears for it I would get one .

I spent a bit of time doing an A/B test on these heads & even though the volumes are the roughly the same the Little Rocker has a lot more low end thud to the sound that I just can't get with the other amp , does that make any sense ?
-
Now I have had time to really A/B the heads the Markbass little Rocker has loads more bottom end thump & tone control .
-
Tried it last night & what a great amp I don't know if it's because the Barefaced cabs are very efficient , but it's very loud & gives a great tone with out having to do anything & the tone print is amazing . I'll be gigging this ASAP . At £260 including foot switch I'm now wondering how long it's going to last , or is just under priced ?
-
I've just ordered a BH250 it will be interesting how it compares with my MB Mo mark & little Rocker when used with my Barefaced super 12T.
-
I was wondering why the tone print isn't used on their high end stuff ? as it seems such a good idea .
-
i was supposed to buy a new laptop today for work & got a new bass head instead . Is it just me ?
just done 14 gigs on the trot with my brand new cab. the wait was excruciating to say the least but the cab is beyond anything i could have hoped for. tried it with brand new tcelectronic bh250 tonepri:ok but not enough punch or dynamics at gig volume, typical digital amp really, save your money. plugged my gk400rb '89 vimtage and wow just perfect, the sound was just pure class:geddy, foxton, squire type tone was what i was after and i was not disappointed. truly the last cab i will buy, massive sounding bass, clear punchy mids and top is excellent. paired with my old precision and a new set of rotos im in heaven!
I was looking at getting a BH250 head to run my barefaced super 12T as I like the tone print idea & the Octave effects & keeping everything light . I play in a band with electric drums . At the moment I use Markbass little Rocker & a MoMark head but hardly drive them at all . Now I'm wondering , should I get the MXR octave pedal or stiil go for this head as I like the idea of using it in my flat for practicing .

The problem I have is that I have about 5 sounds I like I just can't decide . but the comment has been has been made " No one will notice"
-
The other day I spent 6 hours going between my two bass heads & fiddling trying to get a sound I really really like only to end up at the exact same setting that I started with ...is it just me ?
-
Who do I choose to build me a bass?
Kevin Dean replied to JazzBassfreak's topic in General Discussion
Jon Shuker has made a custom medel for myself , I'm very pleased with it in fact it is exactly what I wanted . I couldn't believe how many emails went back & forth about the bass . I can't imagine many people doing that . -
Thanks , I thought I better ask first
-
Does anyone know if the the Zoom MS60B can be powered from the Boss power supply if linked with their pedals ? cheers.
-
I use a MB bass head either a Little Rocker or a MOMark both very light amps .I also use a wireless system , a rack tuner & a sliding shelf that holds just one pedal . All of this is in just one flight case making it quite heavy & I pulled a muscle in my back shifting it the other day . The thing is The wire less comes in handy for sound checks But do I need it ? If I get rid of the shelf & have the pedal on the floor I still have to run leads from the pedal to the back of the wireless . So I'm thinking of just going back to leads & a couple of pedals on the floor & just the amp . Has anyone else done this ?
-
That must be it ,I only have the volume at the 9 o clock for it to be loud enough for my band .
-
I use a Barefaced super 12T , I also have a MarkBass Mo Mark 250 (250watts) & a Little Mark Rocker (500Watts) . just out of interest with either of them on exactly the same volume setting they both give out the same volume . How does that work ?

I suffer from ear infections & my Dr gave me a lecture & said that I shouldn't be sticking anything in my ear smaller than my elbow .Using cotton buds yes you will remove a bit but you are also compressing a lot of it & one day you will press it against your ear drum & good by hearing . He did advise that ears are supposed to be self cleaning & you you can use olive oil , Just tip it in .
