1. I use mine to D tune (pitch shift), also use the Bass man with 4X 12 cab sim to get a great Stranglers sound , & I did have a really good sound for Sledge Hammer (Peter Gabriel) but I've lost the flipin patch & can't seem to replicate it again again .

I've been using one of these & have been very happy with it , but the other day i wiped an effect I made up by accident . I used it for getting a sound that Tony Levin has on Sledge Hammer , & I just can't seem to get the sound back as I can't remember what sequence of effects I used . I think I used a Pitch shift to get a octave effect , the Octave effect seems to have a horrible delay & the Brass ensemble. I was wondering if anyone might have any suggestions of what to try if they know this track . I use a Shuker fretted 4 string & use a plectrum . thanks .
3. Well the MB 801 idea didn't work as the volume control also affects the Line level volume .
4. I'll consider it as my drummer uses a Roland TD kit .
5. I have a Shure SM91 bass drum mic . Could this be used to mic a bass combo ?
6. I contacted them several times & they never bothered to reply
7. I'm about to try using a MB 801 for a bass monitor & was wondering what would sound best DI or Mic & what sort of mic ?
8. I'm in a 3 piece with electric drums , bass, & keyboards, ...I might just sack the keyboard player
9. I have 2 12" 300w active monitors & I'm getting a MB micro mark 8" for home .I was thinking of using this for a bass monitor , I think it will be worth a try .
10. I need the subs for the Roland TD drum kit & the keyboards & we have monitors .
11. I use a MB & Barefaced super 12 T rig , but I also have a 3K PA with active subs etc I was considering just having something like a MB micro combo & DI from it . mainly because I hate carrying gear around & some of the pubs we play in are very cramped . We have electric drums so I don't have to compete with anyone sound wise . Does anyone else do this ?
12. What would be the best way of storing the bass trying to keep the neck like it is , on a stand , in its case or hanging from its neck & kept in tune or strings slightly slackened ?
13. Thanks for that , Jon said leave it for now & see how it goes . He's making a graphite neck for JJB s bass I I might go for one .
14. What's it like for D tuned stuff ? I tune D G C F.
15. I was setting up two basses at the same time , one needed a tweak one way & one the other , Then I got distracted on the phone , I came back & picked up the wrong bass & turned the truss rode the wrong way I can tighten the rod as much as I like & there is no where as much resistance as there was both ways & the neck doesn't move at all , in fact I can unwind the nut out at least 1cm (access head stock end) . The neck does have carbon rods in it & since changing string to Elixir the action is spot on for me . But I'm aware that I can't change it if needed .
16. Well I've done a few gigs now with the Mark bass EQo & for me it sounded absolute crap, so I've now got the Eq 44S HE module thanks for all the input though .
17. I have sent him a email were you able to take it out ?
18. I think I've knackered the Truss Rod on my 36" Shuker as it just goes round without doing anything , Having said that it doesn't rattle ,The Neck also has carbon strips in it & the action is spot on for me So do I need to be worried ?
19. Thanks for the comments , I asked because I did a sound check with the full PA & using my wireless I went for a walk out front & couldn't believe how bad it sounded compared to when I was quite close to the rig , it sounded much better leaving everything flat .
20. I'm having trouble trying to get some of these . If anyone knows a supplier . The MB shop site doesn't seem to work .
21.
How do you know if it's "flat"? The manual might say that you've set all the EQ to "zero" or "does nothing" (sometimes anti clockwise, sometimes 12 o'clock) but that doesn't mean the amp isn't colouring the sound of your bass. I generally find the EQ on amps to be pretty useful and would very rarely leave it "flat"
This has no EQ
22. Have you tried gigging with Flat EQ ? any comments . I'm using a Barefaced super 12" & MB little Rocker But I'm going to try a MB MO mark with Valve pre amp & No eq just a volume out .
23. Sorry I thought you used a pedal as I d tune across all 4 strings , as it's a 36" scale I'm not getting any problems with tension & the frets are hard stainless so no problem with the capo putting grooves in the fret .
24. I tried using a 5 string & just didn't like it , I went to see a local pub band the other day & the bass player had 5 basses only the fret less was noticed sound wise & he seemed a bit flustered having to change basses ,He played one song withe the strap twisted & dropped another bass .
25. Today I've been rehearsing just with My 36" Shuker tuned to D G C F & using a capo on the second fret . For me it it works really well . I'll report back after a few gigs .
