Whats the best british make out there for Amp & Cab in your opinion taking into account reliabilty .

[/quote] Yes I thought that about the Killers stuff , but we have a great Keyboard player & thinking about getting him to fill in on those parts , It's just that we get on really well with him & he has a great voice /

As I play bass in my band , I've got a friend who plays bass very well & is willing to give the guitar a go in my band ,he has a great voice & ear & just thinking how long it may take him to learn the parts never having played guitar before .we are doing stuff like The Stranglers , The Cure, The Killers , Boomtown Rats, & the keyboard player said he's willing to help out on the solo stuff ? just wondering if anyone else has swapped instruments in this way ?

I'm about to try going from 105-45 guage to 110 -50 guage can I expect to have to re set the neck & everything ?

Thanks for your comments , I preffer to D tune as I practice along with the origanal songs a lot more than I play these with the band So I prefer to keep my hand posistions the same ,& as I.m the thickest person I know I get confused easily Having said that I've just remembered Ive got a morpius drop tune pedal , It dosn;t really track bass very well but I could use it to change the pitch of the song Im playing along with .I'll give that a try .

I use a Shuker JJb bass & will start using 110 guage strings for tunning down mainly , but in a band I play for I'm going to tune up a semi tone for a few songs , But could this damage the Neck ?

Scooped , that was the word I was thinking of yes sounds great in a music shop or bed room .

I use a MB with Little mark Rocker NY604 & NY121 cabs & a Shuker JJB bass , Ive played with the EQ & can get some great tones when playing on my own .But when playing with the band I just leave everything flat as the sound really punches through . [email="I@ve"]I've[/email] noticed that a few local bands I've seen may be making this mistake of keeping the EQ they have come up with when playing solo but with a band the sound gets lost .Does anyone else leave their EQ flat ?

Yes , it was just a bit slow on d tuning , After seeing the manual I,m going to try preset 8 I think it is for Bass . Thanks anyway .

Are you supposed to have this on a special setting for bass as I've never really looked at the instructions & now I can't flippin find them , It just seems a bit slow on tracking sometimes .

I play with a pic ,& the 406 cab has loads of bottom & top great for other styles , my friend has the same set up as Loz & thats what I,m after loads of mid punch . I use a little Mark Rocker. Yes 15 mighnt do it but I was thinking of adding one of the MB 12s.

At the moment I have 2 x NY604s , but I cant get the mid punch I use to love with my 121H combo , I'm trying to exchange one of the cabs & at the moment Ive been offerd a NY122 , I realise I would have to use this as a stand alone being 4ohms .Or a 210HF dual ported that I could use with the other NY604. I play with a pic anything from Boomtown Rats to the Stranglers covers in Small medium pubs . what would your choice be? cheers .

Ive worked on a PA for them & he has these two amps for the 2 x15s & 2 x JJ heads for the 2 x 10s .

Has anyone done a tab for this ,ive got most of it worked out but unsure on some of the runs . cheers .
