Midi Bass

My local guitar shop is doing a great deal on an Aria Midi bass , as I,m finding it hard to get a keyboard player for my band could I use this to trigger keyboard sounds etc & good & hard could it be ?
9. I,m thinking of getting a Markbass Micromark for a good quality practice amp that I can also run through my MB 121H at gigs to add more top end clarity at gigs as I do have a problem hearing the top end when standing right next to it.Even when using the Wedge .Good Idea or Bad ? cheers.
10. I did a gig the other nite in a Keyboard bassed rock band in a pub holds about 150 , volume at about half way & was told I was far too loud & everyone thought I was going through my 4k PA as well .
11. Thanks for that, Ive been told it would work the amp & speaker to much .
12. I use the MB121h & I use a peavey XR1212 for the bands PA ,this has a Sub out this means that any signal below 100KHZ going into the PA can be sent to a powered sub .I,m thinking of putting this signal through my amp as well as my bass . Good Idea or not ? Thank you
13.
I've had a CMD121H for about a year now. It's handled everything I've thrown at it, from quite big venues to very small. Two things I've noticed relating to small venues - with the Ashdown Mag and Harke HA3500 rigs I had before they sounded good at reasonably high volume, but at low volume I couldn't get a sound I liked out of them. With the MB, it sounds just as good at any volume level. Second thing is, in a small space I sometimes have to stand beside it, and it sounds just as good from there. I've never used anything to raise it or angle it, but never had a problem hearing it. My one small gripe is the stupid luggage strap on the top which makes it difficult to carry, even though it is light. My Nemesis cab, which cost a third of the price, has three recessed handles in just the right places. Why can't other makers do that?
Yes I have to agree , I love this combo but why the crap handle it really gets on my nerves , when all their other cabs have those inset handles ..
14. I,m very interested & I have funds , please PM me if you still have it
15. I have the Mark Bass 121H I tried it against the 121p & for the the 121p to get the same sound you really needed an extension cab . @ 39lbs I really don,t need anything else for pub gigs . There is loads of volume & to get a muddy tone I have to work the eq.I,m very pleaed with it .
16. Thanks for the advice Ive just goy A boss tuner ,boss PS6 & a Mark Bass super Booster
17. Do any of the multi effects have a pitch shift ? I,m looking at getting a boost pedal(Mark Bass) , Pitch shift(Boss) & Tuner(Boss) . or is a multi board better choice?

20.
I don't know the stuff...but the drum sound is all about good sound for the kit in the first place. If it sounds not great acoustically...you'll struggle..and take a load of time ..getting a useable sound at all. I'd start with working on the kick drum and then add an OH at some point...but it really depends on how hard the guy hits the kit and whether it is engr'd all the time. If not..then it is crucial to get the level and stick with it... which is beyond or so many who inisist on volume creep throughout the gig.
The kit sounds great its just that most pub bands I see are to loud & are paying no attention to the drums its just loud . My friends band get a great sound but he owns a PA hire company & his rig is about £10k worth of gear & he does admit its because he can there not to loud but when there doing stuff like the Clash the drums have to be up there .My budget is around £2k.
21. I,m looking at getting a Pa for my band I want to be able to get a decent Drum sound in an average pub at the moment I,m looking at getting a Peavey XR1212 with Subs & tops 600w per side ,any comments welcome .
22. In the end I went for the 121h. We tried it against my friends rig in his shop ,he has a 121p with 121h extension cab .first we tried it against the 121p using the wedge ,there was no comparison the 121h was so mutch louder .Infact the 121h was just as loud as the 121p with the 121h extension cab.we also tried the 121h combo with the 121h extension & we couldn,t really tell that it made any difference ,you could see that using the extra cab the drivers were not being driven that hard .For me I like to see the drivers moving ,it gives me a feeling that I,m getting my moneys worth . The wedge makes a big difference & for me I have found the right rig at under 40 lbs
23. I will do some better pics
