They might be better than us at rugby, but this Frenchman is 'try'ing it on (haha!) It's unbelievable how many pm's I get from French socalled basschat members with zero feedback who have only just registered on here wanting to buy that les Paul I've had for sale for ages. I wish they (or he) would just go and f*ck off.

    Not a silly question at all mate! Honest answer is that I don't know; but, it has no binding on the edge of the body for example, so, going on what little I know about how Gibson brand their guitars, I'd say it is the no frills 'studio'; but nowhere does it say it, and I don't have a manual for it or anything. Any advice from anyone would be appreciated. It certainly doesn't have a figured maple top or anything like that. It's flat and kind of slab bodied (and heavy), which means it sustains for an eternity, and is not great therefore and reproducing Motown basslines which is what I play! I work in Leeds, so if you ever wanted to get your hands on it for a good look/tinker, I'd be happy to meet up Cheers

    I've got it's predecessor, an syb3, bought it a few years ago now, and the novelty wore off after 10 minutes....hand on heart I haven't touched it since.

(ie listing on ebay for free last weekend, link to photobucket with lots of pics, and putting my email addy in the listing). Cost - precisely nothing. Fees - nothing. And I got what I wanted for it, so everyone's happy. He emailed me after it had ended (with 0 bids) and I let him have it for 20 quid less than the starting bid (which was 30 quid more than what I wanted for it to offset the potential ebay fees).....And breathe

    Sorry to be a pain in the proverbial, but exactly how long is the other strap (the levys one)? I'm a big lad with 9 (i think) basses, or is it 8?! All have got decent straps on them but some arent long enough to hang at a comfy level, and i end up looking like a fat (and talentless) mark king (ie, bass up around my ears). If you could measure it, that would be great, and I'll go measure my long one (ooh err!) and see how they compare? Jesus; that sounds gay; not that there's owt wrong with being gay. Christ....oh god, that's blaspheming....and so was that....but you understand i hope?! Cheers
