1. I've got far too many too! I already have a gordon smith bass (look at the bottom of my signature) as well as 2 Gordon smith electric g*****s. They are absolutely fantastic superbly made instruments. Just a shame (don't tell my mrs I said this) that I'm getting married next year and trying to save up to pay for other people to eat and drink for free for a couple of hours, so every penny counts. And you're right about the Yamaha. That's lovely too. I've just been playing it for half an hour actually. Cheers
2. I bet James Jamerson even farted in intervals. Legend
3. Interested in this http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=132053 plus cash your way? And I can come to Manchester...... Cheers
4. Fancy a swap for either: My Guild b301 fretless 1977? All original Or my immaculate .1997 Gibson les Paul 5 string with Bart Pickups and preamp Both are in the for sale section and are both cracking basses. Cheers
5. Are you looking at swapping them both for the right bass or just one or the other? Out of interest, what do you value them both at? Cheers
6. build me one! Excellent!
7. I have nice padded 'westfield' gigbag, black with a bit of red on it. Big zip pocket on front with a smaller one on that, and a smaller pocket up near where the headstock is. You can get allsorts in it! It's also got a velcro thingy insite to wrap around your (the bass's)! neck to keep it secure. I come over to Manchester quite regularly so meeting up is no problem. I can get some pics of the gigbag if you're interested. Also it has carry handles on the side like a case and one on the front to pick it up with. It also has 2 straps to sling it on your back or over your shoulder if you want to. Cheers

Hahah! Snap! Any interest in 5 strings at all, or is it just 4s? I have an immaculate 1997 active (Bartolini pickups and preamp) Gibson Les Paul 5 string bass? Cheers
10. Seeing as u don't want a 5 now, any interest in my all original 1977 Guild B-301 fretless? Cheers

13. Hi mate. I have a b-302 but I'm not selling it. Cheers
14. The price of warwicks has fallen so much over the last year or so. I sold my immaculate 5 string passive bubinga Corvette for 480 earlier this year. The bass you played is a streamer, the kind of entry model of proper warwicks (they also do a budget 'rockbass' range). The streamer is a lovely instrument no doubt, but like I said, the secondhand prices at the mo are stupidly silly. Have a look on ebay completed listings and I'm sure you'll see what I mean. I reckon a used streamer like this would struggle to fetch 300 at the moment, so it's overpriced if you ask me....not that it's not a as good as some 500 pound plus basses, because it most certainly is! I need to buy another Warwick cos I miss mine.
15. Pics?
16. Herzich Willkommen bei uns! Ich habe 2 Guild Baesse.....schau auf meinem Signature unter.
17. No worries mate, was worth asking Cheers

19.
What are the controls? Are they Volume and tone for each pickup (as with the standard 6 string guitar) or does the active circuitry allow for separate bass and treble? Also, I currently play a Spector Euro 5 LX (as I see you also have), how does this compare?
Hi there. Yes it's volume and tone for each pickup. Compared to the spector, the string spacing is a little tighter, it's a bit heavier (but balances nicely), and I'd say has more output powerwise with both pickups on full (not that the Spector isn't powerful!). The neck has more of a 'c' profile too than the Spector. The Gibson is an absolute beast of a bass, but it's not suited to what I play (soul), and even with the flats on it, it still wants to rock. It's a beauty in the right context. I'd almost forgotten I'd got the Spector; that doesn't get much use either for pretty much the same reason as the Gibson. James Jamerson never needed active 5 strings did he?! Cheers
20.
What would you be interested in for trades mate? what kind of thing are you into?
Hi there. Thanks for your message. A nice USA jazz 4 or 5, or a nice USA precision with a maple neck. Or a 4 string stingray would be right up my street....I'm open to suggestions as well....what you got?
21. I'm just listening to it now. Yes, it's a nice little tune. Not sure why our singer is so adamant that he wants to do it though as we almost exclusively play Motown and Northern Soul stuff. Ah well, it's one for the ladies I suppose!
22. does anyone have it? our singer is adamant he wants it learnt by sunday and i've not even looked at it yet, so any help would be appreciated! Cheers
