Cheers Andy. It was a good buy I have to say. Couple of marks on the back but as a first go with my own BB (I can’t count @Al Krow ‘s) I’m quite surprised. Might benefit from some new strings. Any recommendations on strings for these for an old Skool no slapping vibe?

I have to say after playing this for a while they are lovely basses for the money.

In the first instance I’d give the guys at Status a call. It’s worth a try they may have spares. If you have the serial number they should be able to give you some history and possibly get you a replacement sorted, or suggest suitable replacements for them all.

+1 for OBBM. All my cables are from him now, we’ve just replaced all the band XLRs and the mic cables. 👍🏻👍🏻

I did a similar thing in January. Merrily chopping away at an onion, distracted by my phone, when I realised that the knife was red.... taken a large chunk from my forefinger of my left hand at the join where it bends at the top, the first time I’ve ever cut myself! 2 days before a big private party..... it bled for 24 hours... it bled during the gig, took ages to heal! Take plenty of plasters and a cloth. It’ll smart a bit but you’ll be fine when you are playing😃

I’m not purely active. Just happens it’s panned out like that in the past year with the shuker and status. I played my jazz almost exclusively for 3 years. Ha! I’ve seen the 734a for sale. Unfortunately I couldn’t possibly own a “burst” bass... not overly keen on black basses either so the 734a will have to wait until they decide other colors are available 😂 I have another couple of itches need scratching before anymore yammys which may see the modulus looking for a new home.

It’s going to have to go some to make the the other basses in the fold feel subdued, that said they are all active and not passive so an unfair comparison. 🤨
