  1. I can't find this when I look through the Basses for sale thread....
  2. To be fair to them they have been a man down for a few weeks. I emailed then rang them a few weeks ago - conversation meant they pulled up my email, sorted the order then and there, item in the post the next day. Robert's your Auntie's live in lover.... Not that difficult really..
  3. I can't stand up (for falling down) - Elvis
  4. Seems like all the greats are leaving us. She rebooted an amazing career in the 80s - probably bigger then than when she was with Ike. A serious loss to music, thankfully most of her contributions are recorded for posterity.
  5. Wow....I've just been talking to a friend who's a long time Ray owner about my recently acquired Sterling short scale. Bit of a price difference between the two...
  6. So it arrived yesterday along with a fretless TRB1005 but I haven't been able to play either due to a damaged hand. Bought from our own @cammymaxwellbass this short scale Sterling Ray fills a hole in my range of basses. As I said, haven't been able to play it yet but I took some photos for posterity.
  7. So what are the supposed problems with Wilkinson parts?
  8. John Wayne is big Leggy - Hazee Fantazee
  9. I have a set of machine heads ready to go on a bass. I've got a PJ pickup set on a bitza...I'm more than happy with them. AFAIC all their gear I've tried has been great vfm.
  10. My only answer would be "availability ". There were enough people who recognised them as great basses that Nanyo sold lots of them. Loads of them still about too.
  11. A Jezza ( @Jabba_the_gut) creation?
  12. Biscuits?? https://www.toolstation.com/trend-jointing-biscuit/p61698?utm_source=googleshopping&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=googleshoppingfeed&mkwid=_dc&pcrid=&pkw=&pmt=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLGjBhDKARIsAFRNgW_0Z-2rn5CvRMPWrbd4YvlRfpfJ2IfWyICupL9EYpjjkD8qvjlpBQ0aAlSLEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I only just noticed this thread. Sad loss to this forum...RIP Sir.
  14. Is this a good price for an American SUB??

Bit steep I'd say unless it's absolutely mint with an original case blah blah.. , mine was about 600 squid, circa 18 months ago.

Saw that and he's well over priced it imo, he's also got another bass for sale that is a couple of hundred quid over value so could just be chancing his arm? Just to put in context, there's one on FB in Lancaster for sale for £450, which is v cheap and wouldn't be for sale if I was nearer it 😃

  15. I bought a Mini Sterling Ray from Cameron - lovely thing it is. Cameron was a gent throughout - lots of helpful correspondence and armour plated packing of the bass which, despite the efforts of a numpty Parcelforce driver who couldn't find my address, arrived safely and on time (well I collected it from my local depot, 1m away). Trade with confidence - he's an asset to this forum
  16. I've been very impressed with the build quality from Yamaha. The basses play like instruments twice the price, so if that's the case why not get two? Fretted and fretless TRB 1005.
  17. The PJ configuration is my favourite with these. GLWTS
