Browsing....and was looking at the Sadowsky Metro Express PJ 5. I don't have any experience of them but they seemed to be well regarded. Have you tried any of the Ibanez range? Alternatively, with a £2K budget @Andyjr1515 could build you whatever you want (if he isn't already inundated).

You know how you keep things - even though you don't need them - in case you ever need them? Ross came to my rescue when I needed a box to send a bass. Not only did he have a box, he had a box that fitted inside that other box. Double protection. A Godsend!!
