My local drivers are excellent - I have never had any issues with them. Unfortunately this hasn't been the case from other areas, failed collections, rescheduling for no reason, BS excuses, I think that it is a bit of a postcode lottery.

Latest: Apparently built by a fella called Graham Noden who worked at Andy's in Denmark Street from 1972 - 1984, building custom instruments from high end parts for wealthy clients, prepared to pay for custom high end guitars. Graham is still building guitars from premises in West Drayton/ Uxbridge. https://nodenguitars.co.uk/

Rotosound SM77 Monel Hybrid Gauge Flatwound Bass Strings
TheGreek replied to TheGreek's topic in General Discussion
I emailed Rotosound about buying a single low B string. See the thread "Prompt response from Rotosound HQ" thread. -
Low B string available for the Rotosound Monet SM77 flatwound set(£38.99 on Amazon) and .50 for the tapewounds ( £31.99 at Knighton Music Centre) Flats: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rotosound-Monel-Hybrid-Flatwound-Strings/dp/B0002GNY1Y/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2ZDUM7OWS4QL&keywords=Rotosound+Flatwound+Black+Steel+Strings+for+Electric+Bass+Guitar&qid=1678815801&s=musical-instruments&sprefix=rotosound+flatwound+black+steel+strings+for+electric+bass+guitar%2Cmi%2C116&sr=1-5 Tapes: https://www.knightonmusiccentre.com/bass-guitar-strings/products/rotosound-tru-bass-88-long-scale-65-115-electric-bass-strings?filter=148 Thank you for your message. We manufacture a .125 flatwound string that would compliment the SM77 set. The model number is JBL125. The single .050 nylon wrapped string has the model number TBL050. We don’t sell direct but all of our strings are available through all official Rotosound retailers. We only made these individual strings available recently so it can take a while for stores to stock up on the product. May I suggest that you contact either your preferred retailer or an online retailer and request that they order the string in for you? Regards, Jack

Should I be worried about the neck with new strings on cheap bass?
TheGreek replied to rwillett's topic in Bass Guitars
Please move to Basschat Famous Quotes thread. What did the Romans ever do for us? -
Pickups from our own @Chimikearrived a few days ago, Gotoh gold tuners arrived today - seems that it ridiculously difficult to find a decent set of gold elephant/ lollipop anywhere other than somebody's parts drawer. Cream pick up covers due on Friday, again hard to come by. I'm hoping that swapping the closed pickups into open covers isn't going to be an issue or I may have a set to sell/trade. I ordered a Wilkinson BBT bridge only to be refunded as they don't actually have any in stock. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey...

I think @tomthebass will be interested to see this. He showed me a photo of a bass with a Ray body with a Yamaha BBG4 neck he has - remarkably like this.

That's the reason for my aversion to "real" Fenders. Market leaders who stood still (went backwards??) in the 80s and let everyone else catch up/ overtake them.
