  1. You could do worse than this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/195601266710?hash=item2d8abe7816:g:X7gAAOSw3a9j7QqL&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoLUyWAokiM19OslP%2FS4db8QYyvklp9%2FtuvHls52sIvxO2%2B7HAdSMRIWnMgoTWgMGyEceQi%2BRrslUgT5CcvezJa4jUQVaPkJGWNSr2P454MUk266RKfy4WfRjUTMo1n4AiTJZzzK7xHzDuOcAbsg4v2FlaTQyiHHTquH1O2so885c5Pmp0jFO57pZ7KpcDRkfae3vrGeJCfGvoMXvo%2FGrvdc%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR5Scn-3KYQ
  2. Wilkinsons do active Musicman pickups - pretty sure they must do a matching J. Good quality at very reasonable prices.
  3. I think that there are many of us in similar situations - lots of gear, no band, reduced motivation. Personally I'm keeping my gear for as long as I can afford to - my nest egg as most of my pensions are rubbish. Chances of me selling the gear at a profit is more likely than any of the pensions yielding something worth talking about. Also I get to play instruments that I enjoy..
  4. Got my BB605 back earlier. A loose wire on the jack socket resulted in no volume. I really must get some photos done.
  5. I got a lot from the book...can I suggest that you persevere
  6. I've just come back from my electronics guy. I know that in the past he has repaired Markbass Amps but getting parts is a bit of a nightmare. Modern Class D heads aren't designed to be repaired. Built in obscelescence - they want you to throw it away and buy a new one.
  7. I have a 4 string Sterling 2HH - I believe that they are also available as 5ers. IMO that would be a good buy - they change hands for around £300 - great value
  8. Interesting...especially with Rob Green being unwell for the last few months.
  9. The Magnificent Seven theme - Elmer Bernstein
  10. Do you really want to hurt me - Culture Club
  11. You could try your local car body shop. They might be more amenable if you have done all the preparation.
  12. Swan Lake - Tchaikovsky?(not that it matters for the purpose of this thread)
  13. I also have the book on a USB stick, however copyright rules prevent me from sending that to people who might want to copy it to one of their devices before returning it 😉 😉
  14. I lost my heart to a starship trooper - Sara Brightman.
  15. Interesting Tele style 60s bass. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364143493743?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_SvdKf_RSyy&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=3arTyUkpQE-&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  16. God No!! I've seen several Mr Pratt interviews...the content has virtually been the same..."tell us when you tried to smash up a Status live on stage" and "what was it like being in Pink Floyd" (even though nobody other than bass players know who he is). I can't watch another of his videos.
  17. I didn't get on with fretless for many years but TBH I didn't persevere. I bought a Yamaha TRB 5iif which was fantastic but traded it for the fretted version. Now I have "another " fretted bass. I miss my fretless.
