    God No!! I've seen several Mr Pratt interviews...the content has virtually been the same..."tell us when you tried to smash up a Status live on stage" and "what was it like being in Pink Floyd" (even though nobody other than bass players know who he is). I can't watch another of his videos.

    I didn't get on with fretless for many years but TBH I didn't persevere. I bought a Yamaha TRB 5iif which was fantastic but traded it for the fretted version. Now I have "another " fretted bass. I miss my fretless.

    What do you gain? A better ear - with a fretted bass you take being in tune for granted as the frets do the work. With a fretless you have to listen more to what you are actually playing because it's easy to be out of tune. Even if you never play a fretless in a band situation it's a nice technique to try to develop. Buy wisely and you may not lose any money on selling.

    Though the shop closed just before Xmas they still have an online presence. I bought some pickups from them (at a very good price) recently. Good service too - notified me the day the pickups were being sent out. GLWTS
