  1. I was very impressed with my HD360 and Neo cab- in fact I'd say that it was some of the best gear I ever played through. When they were based in Letchworth, Herts the Customer Service was excellent. I've been looking for the NeoGorm combo for a few years now but they rarely come up for sale - suggests they are appreciated by their owners. I still regard them as producers of high class equipment.
  2. Very educational - there were a number of players that I didn't know about as well as highlighting some who get lots of hate. Some homework to do....
  3. Like the idea of the truss rod cover using magnets. It isn't until you have to access areas held in by screws that you realise what a great idea magnets are.
  4. I have a custom headless with a similar problem. I don't play it very often but when I do I just have to suck it up and live with it. It's less aggro than having work done.
  5. I tried to convert to 5ers several times without success before locking away all my 4 string basses and concentrated on the 5ers. Since you are more adept with 4 strings you will almost certainly pick up a 4 string to practice. This will only hold your conversion back. If you are committed to learning on a 5 then lock away the 4s. Oh, BTW do all the repairs that are required to the Ped. Your buyer will appreciate being able to plug and go.
  6. I can't remember where I saw a Vanderkley amp/cab for sale. You can't go wrong with this set up.
  7. No innuendo meant.... Odd knobs???
  8. A very clean BB1100s fretless on Gumtree https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/yamaha-bb1100s-fretless-bass-mij-/1420712176
  9. Inna Gadda Da Vidda: I didn't know the track so went to YT where I found this: John Bolin 3 months ago I'm 65 years old. Heard this on the radio in 1968, blew me away. Inspired me to learn guitar. The lead guitar player, Erik Brann is playing a Mosrite Ventures guitar. At the time, you could order a Mosrite guitar off the back of a Ventures album. My parents refused. Instead, they took me down to the local music store ....I came home with Gibson SG and a sworn promise to them and myself that I would never give it up. I learned this song in 1968 when I was 12 years old. Wasn't very good.....but I got better......... and still play it ( on the SG ) to this very day....
  10. Set lists are normally dictated by guitarists or singers. So what tracks would you choose to add to your set list?
  11. True but nobody's charging £1100 for a poke in the eye.
  12. I was looking at one of these on the Bass Direct website yesterday. Very desirable but unfortunately not "impulse buy money". Maybe I should contact Santa....
  13. Won't some of them need basses??? If there are too many basses on the planet then surely there are even more (too many) guitars on the planet. If we need to moderate the amount of wooden instruments lets start with them.
  14. Nice bass... It's my birthday at the end of December. Hope that's enough time for you to get one finished in time....
  15. How many basses are too many? Whenever I see this question I'm inclined to think that it's posted by a bassists' wife. Bassists would never asked this question themselves (unless they want to buy another).
  16. "Sorry...my performance isn't interrupting your conversation is it? I'll just wait till you've finished..."
  17. Personally I can't think of a better person for the job.... Donner may be missing out by not offering you an endorsement.
  18. Welcome Dave You may find your services as a drummer are more in demand here...
  19. ...and need somebody to endorse it, hey @fretmeister??? 👍
  20. Francesc Jordan Custom £1,100.00 Imagine playing that on your knee....
  21. The Recroder is much harder to find though so may be worth the starting price.
  22. There seem to be loads of Yamaha 5ers around for around £300 - get one - loads of bass for not many pennies. Then you can keep this!!
