  1. Good price currently but 6 days to go....expect the price to go up.
  2. Make sure you sign up to Scott's Bass Lessons and work your way through the beginners lessons. These will give you a good basis to build on.
  3. Learn the notes on the fattest string (E) and then learn the relationship of the notes on the other strings to the E. A string is 5 frets down or 7 up D string is 2 frets up G string is 3 frets down
  4. I've seen these advertised in excess of £1k. I thought this would be snagged and bagged in no time. Expect seller's remorse @Burns-bass
  5. Don't dismiss the GK Backline range. I bought a 110 when I started playing again and still have it. I find it ideal for taking to friends homes for impromptu rehearsal due to its small size but potent output. I recently took a 112 (100w) in p/x..had one before and was impressed.
  6. That's the biggest loads of boll0cks I've ever heard
  7. Sounds like it's under some chemicals. Is it lacquered over - if so you'll need to remove this first (obviously )
  8. I use these - amazing tone that you didn't know you wanted till you have it. Great buy for somebody..
  9. Hope that it won't be too much effort to remove the neon colours - a bit to bright for me.
  10. The fretless looks amazing...
  11. I think that raffles are governed by the Gaming Commission and must comply with their R&Rs.
  12. I've recently been recycling strings to @Useless amateur who builds project basses for charity. At least I know they are being used for a good cause. Before we open the floodgates of strings to @Useless amateur make sure you contact him first.
  13. I don't believe that "everything happens in the last half an hour". I have placed ludicrous lowball bids on items days before and won at bargain prices. I'm also a watcher of things similar to those I own to get an idea of selling prices.
  14. I've got to say that in all the transactions I have done using both UPS and Parcelforce I have never been let down. I know both of my local drivers for said companies - one I went to school with and the other a big dog fan who was devastated when Shalla died. Other couriers I have less faith in - I'll always use one of the above.
  15. Welcome sir...glad to see you're a dog person too... You'll fit in well here...
  16. It does look good...you must be chuffed
  17. When Bernie Goodfellow rings I'll ask if can make me a headless Rumour, Ebony board, figured top and SIMs pick ups.
  18. If we're looking at making it more complicated the OP should also look at a GB.
  19. I bought both secondhand. The Shuker could have been just about anything - the ACG was definitely an ACG. Agree with the Overwater being a cut above most other basses. I sold mine and bought it back. Build quality is up there with the very best and Chris and Co are some of the nicest people on the planet - always polite and helpful and will take the time to answer any queries.
  20. I've had both - both make excellent instruments - and there are benefits to owning either. Personally I found the Shuker to be quite sterile with little character of it's own where as the ACG are all individuals. I know where I would spend the money if I were in your position.
