  1. This is ridiculously cheap for what you get. I recently bought a blue fretless TRB5iiF and it's an amazing bass - probably the best VFM bass I've ever owned - and as good, if not better, than some of the high end basses I've owned. At £600 it's a steal.
  2. One on ebay for £750 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174980161816?hash=item28bda16118:g:R8UAAOSwAfJhYaLD
  3. 4. I think you know the answer to your query....look at the pick up attachment. The "quality" of the build speaks for itself.
  5. I can get away with long strings on everything except the longest string - a D on must of my basses.
  6. I'm a user of Tapewounds and absolutely love them. I don't suffer with sweaty hands so don't have the same issues but you should hunt down the thread about sweaty hands and cleaning fretboards which was hot a few weeks ago. Lots of good advice.
  7. Fender, Rotosound and Warwick have entered the Tapewound market with their own brands of strings. I've got all three fitted on basses and TBH all are worth considering for a deeper, warmer tone than you get with normal flatwound strings. Prices from £28 but you may need to shop around.
  8. I disagree about them not being of value - I had a fretless - nice bass but weighed the same as two rhinos - first thing I would do in your shoes is consider chambering (removing wood from the body). If you're looking for a new pre-amp have a chat with John East to see what he can put together for you. I would recommend Herrick custom pick ups - he'll make you whatever you want at a really reasonable price. I have the original knobs if you need a set.
  9. I've posted a review from a magazine in the BB Thread if anybody needs more info

    I think you mean "awesome"
  12. ...and a reputable (BC) seller I believe.
  13. As others have said, "Persevere. Success quotes Pele
  14. Looks wrong with a headstock. Headless only I say.
  15. ...and they have no concept of doublets/triplets or stays - just use all the notes in the scale....I don't let anybody play 12 bar blues on my gear.
  16. Hmmm, can you let us know how you get on with these. They sound interesting but I'm dubious about the warning and the risk of damage.
  17. Welcome Sir... Please note that we're hot on spelling and grammar here....there are at least 9 o's in "Hellooooooooooooooo"
  18. A BB300 on Gumtree https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/yamaha-bb300-bass-guitar-now-reduced-£225/1417594621
  19. More customer focussed deals from D'Addario - they know how to treat their clients. 👍
  20. From my experience you could probably have a genuine custom bass built by one of the many fine luthiers here for less than you'd pay for a CS from most "name" builders. Check the Build Diaries thread for inspiration.
  21. Welcome Den.... Expect your extensive list of gear to increase - I only had three basses when I joined - I have "one or two" more now.
