  1. Most of the TE gear is well built and rarely goes wrong IME - some have been around for a while and well used so servicing record might be of value. Test anything you might want to buy even though it's bullet proof.
  2. My local Amp Tech, Mal tells how he repaired a customers MB head. Apparently the UK suppliers can only sell a certain (low) amount of circuit boards each year. He was fortunate to get one of these for this customer but he puts little faith in the future supply. If you want something reliable - get an Ashdown (with great customer service) or TE (which last forever).
  3. The Dept. 10 Dual Drive and Dual Distortion offer four pro-quality overdrive and distortion voices each, running at 250V. Innovative design, premium components, and the advanced Cab Rig DI technology create the best valve pedals you will ever own and world-class valve recording preamps. The Dept. 10 Boost is the ultimate high voltage valve boost pedal. Combining a Class A gain stage and natural sounding passive EQ, this class leading pedal is like adding two extra hot valve stages to an amp. 4. Hey 'Shell Haven't I seen you somewhere before?? I checked - you can change your email address in Account settings....
  5. Lovely - Jezza brought a couple of these to the Herts Bash/ SE Bashes. I'm green with envy...
  6. I'm amazed that a bass player is concerned about the neck size on a geeetar. In the past you've had to adapt to neck sizes on a bass (successfully) - you shouldn't have any issues picking up a guitar. In fact, you'll be surprised how weeny they feel. I suspect you know one or two guitarists who would allow you to try whatever they have.
  7. Came late to this thread.... A BC member, John, has a TRB5 with pick ups from Goodfellows. He brought that and a Yamaha TRB 6 string to various SE Bashes - sounds monster...
  8. The weight of the Roadster may prove to be an issue - notorious for being 10lbs+
  9. Amp shortage??? Not in my home... 5 TE heads and a 150 combo. Ashdown EVO 180 combo Ashdown Little Giant 1000w head Markbass S450 That is probably overdoing it, I know...

  11. It could be pride of place on your Bonfire next month.
  12. There was a period in the 80s when Maxi Priest was a God to me. One of my inspirations to start playing Bass.
  13. Though not a direct "copy" of a Wal, ACGs have their own characteristic palette. As I always say - if you can't find a tone you like there's something wrong with you - not the ACG bass. There are a few on this forum - see if you can borrow one...
  14. Monster amp...if I had a need for another amp I'd be on this (but probably too late). Somebody's going to get a result.
  15. Bargain - and great amps. One of the few amps I've sold which I regret.
  16. Too much time on their hands and access to a drill?
  17. Yes, but this Basschat - unfortunately everybody wants a bargain, nobody wants to pay a fair price. Look at how much excellent gear hasn't sold.
  18. I had one for a while - amazing little thing - blew people's minds that a "silly little amp like that" could make so much noise. Sold it because of the Hi-fi criticism. Absolutely true that PJB make some amazing gear.
  19. Price is based on the condition it is in and the added extras that it comes with. Feel free to send sensible offers though. So the gig bag, strap and plectrums cost a grand.
