  1. So, so lovely.... If it's taking up space I'm happy to squeeze it in here...😉😉
  2. What positives came from the rehearsal? They said that you can play so that should tell you that wasn't the issue and help your confidence. Also you've learnt to be not too denigrating - maybe your comment should have been "great, my slapping is a bit rusty - that'll give me a chance to get my slapping back up to par". Shows you're keen and willing to learn. As @Old Horse Murphy suggested, maybe the other fella doesn't work out and they'll come back to you. You'll be in a more powerful position then. Good luck.
  3. I defer to more learned BCers but this sounds like a not too complicated fix (dry joint/ earthing issue??). Could be a steal for somebody. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265303391205?hash=item3dc5507be5:g:yPYAAOSwNvphN8gz
  4. https://www.gear4music.com/Bass_Guitars/Bass-Strings/Warwick I used the reds for a while - very good VFM IMO
  5. ...and their Hi Mass bridge is available for £21 at DV247 ( I paid twice this!! Damn!!)
  6. https://guitarspace.org/guitar-accessories/best-flatwound-bass-strings/ There was a time when Fender tapewounds were very well priced - I started a thread on them at the time. Thomann have them for £25 but you may find them for less elsewhere. https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_9050l.htm DV247 - £17 https://www.dv247.com/en_GB/GBP/Fender-Original-7150M-Bass-Guitar-Str-ings-/art-BAS0004776-000?campaign=GShopping/GB&ProgramUUID=5G_AqJarZwoAAAFl0FZyjI8V&gclid=Cj0KCQjw4eaJBhDMARIsANhrQAD8S12K4QcUHm_59GsS4A2YYxh5Sd7Hpmorl8qqgkxSvh7FBeCDPnwaAuyQEALw_wcB
  7. Nice bass - I'm also glued to black tapewounds currently. Best tone from any strings I've ever used. Warwick and Rotosound doing sets for around £30
  8. Sorry, missed your query. It is....
  9. Stonefield also make those really funky high end basses with the weird bridges which suggest that this is also well made. Any YT videos?
  10. I was bidding on it too. Gutted that I didn't win, but if wasn't me who won I'm glad it was another BCer...
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265302580131?hash=item3dc5441ba3:g:CjcAAOSwP~5gpPjH
  12. BB1600 on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203596321096?hash=item2f67495148:g:AwEAAOSwJEZhNjv4
  13. My first bass...people later told me it was heavy - I didn't know that. Priced to sell for sure - there are examples on eBay/ Gumtree for at least another hundred quid. I've always said I'd like to find a neck thru 111A with a broken headstock to convert to headless - still waiting to find one.
  14. Bears more than a passing resemblance to Spector/ Warwick but it definitely isn't either. Anybody have any ideas?? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185035602853?hash=item2b14fb3ba5:g:yBwAAOSwHWBhNiD4
  15. Is there a collection for a wreath from BC? Happy to contribute
  16. I'd like to replace the pick up covers for my Yamaha BBG5S - I contacted Yamaha, only available in black. Does anybody know who might make replacement covers?
  17. There's a very nice MM Ray on Gumtree for £999 - bird's eye neck and RW fretboard.

I'm sure somebody must be interested.

That must be the "Erniball" stingray, Mick!

I agree, that neck looks beautiful.  If only I had a spare grand right now!

  18. GuitarWorld : BOSS Waza air bass headphones ... Bassists can choose between three advanced ambience setups: Surround – which places the user in a virtual room for a recording studio experience; Static – which provides natural spatial localization, changing as the user moves their head; and Stage – which delivers the amp sound from a virtual backline behind the player. Looks interesting - but I'll wait for the cost of the tech to come down.
  19. Found these though: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401462184107?hash=item5d7902c8ab:g:3-gAAOSwrmRb7MOe https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124230424161?hash=item1cecb5d661:g:mqwAAOSwjDpe7yBj https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234095226623?hash=item368129aeff:g:OXkAAOSwYOBg9Rkp https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124186360187?hash=item1cea15797b:g:GpEAAOSwf0ted8DA I think it may be possible to get a similar effect by putting your brass parts in vinegar (or any other mild acid).
  20. I haven't seen anything else with this finish unfortunately. They are "inexpensive" and from China....
