  1. Sunshine??? Nothing but clouds here. White scratchplate of course??
  2. Personally I like a limited palette - I'd go with the larger cream plastic ones.
  3. Found this thread after somebody quoted it on Gumtree. I bought a BB615 - great bass tonally with amazing playability. My only issue is the size of the body - I prefer a smaller body - if I could transfer everything into a something like a BC Nanyo I would be a very happy bunny.
  4. I've owned both these items - can confirm the quality. I can't for the life of me remember who I traded them with...did either used to belong to me?? BTW GLWTS
  5. Expect he'll be using copious amounts of "go faster chemicals".. Hope he doesn't suffer with RSI - he may well do in 60 hours or so.
  6. IME The hardest band member to find is a decent drummer. If you can find one you're well on your way. Obviously we're not counting good singers without an ego...
  7. He's a member here??? I didn't know he even played bass!! No Schroeders?
  8. I've always had great service from D'Addario - they were really supportive with donations at The Herts Bass Bashes.
  9. Bought some Rotos tapewounds (65/75/100/115) a while back - didn't actually open them till yesterday when I put them on my new Yamaha BBG5S. I didn't play the bass till today when I noticed the D/G are the same. Didn't notice when restringing the bass. I've emailed Rotosound asking for a "replacement" G string. Anybody else had a similar experience? In all my time playing I've never encountered this.
  10. Joined 11 years ago today....I had three basses back then. A 4 string, a 5 string and an acoustic...probably owned 50+ basses since.

You people have been a bad influence on me...😉😉

I think you'd have been called The First Ones if this was Babylon 5.

Same sort of story here Mick, had only owned a few basses til Basschat, now I think I`ve owned them all!

  11. I'm with the consensus - 2x 12 rather than a 212 - your back will thank you too.
  12. I must say that fretless looks amazing..
  13. I'm not sure the BB's are for everybody. I recently bought a BB615 - great tones, etc but I can't get on with the body shape. I much prefer my BBG5S. So much so that I bought a second - they sound amazing with tapewound strings.
  14. There's was an Aria SB on ebay this week which I was considering. Plan was to de-head and convert to headless. Went for more than I would have paid.
  15. Removed the sticker, lowered the action, fine tuned the intonation and fitted tapewounds. Like a new bass - but TBF is it for me.
  16. That's what I use. I bought a can several years ago - still have it.
  17. Not enough credit to @upside downer for the thread title. Way to go, sir
  18. I don't really have space but I could just about squeeze in an Alembic SC if you like.
  19. Amazingly clean example of a 45 year old bass... GLWTS
