  2. It is a clean example of a 50 year old bass - maybe the seller thinks it's valuable because it's old.
  3. Expect lots of comments about the optical illusion that fretboard creates... Another Alan masterpiece.
  4. I like the simplicity of the white fretless.
  5. Not sure how useful this is but I assume somebody can make use of it. https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2021/08/03/mitch-gallaghers-mix-tips-how-to-mix-bass-guitar/?utm_source=newsshowcase&utm_medium=discover&utm_campaign&utm_content
  6. My Tech, in Stevenage, will make reasonable charges but getting parts for Markbass gear is a nightmare. As @Bigwan says, it would be helpful to know what's wrong with it.
  7. A P/J is a P pick up at the neck position and a J pick up at the bridge.
  8. Let me be the first to congratulate you on a wise decision and offer my home to the bass should you need somebody to look after it indefinitely. 😉😉 Remember that I offered first!!
  9. No, I reckon you could get at least another 2 or 3 on there...but don't tell Mrs Travis that it was me that said so...
  10. ...and they all lived happily ever after. 😀😀
  11. I'd suggest getting used to what you have currently before throwing sackfuls of money at instruments. Playing fretless is not as simple as you'd think - I've owned several but always struggled. If it's your plan to then consider locking away all your fretted basses to avoid distraction. If you're undecided on a J or P consider getting a P/J which will give you the best of both worlds.
  12. The builder is a member here. He has had some really nice basses for sale over the past year or so....
  13. Considering that Jaydee are considered relics from the 80s they do seem to be doing alright. I should never have sold my first one...
  14. I think it's has been said before..."you can never have enough clamps".
  15. Is that the world's biggest plectrum?
  16. Looks much better with the black plate...
  17. Out with the old, in with the new..
  18. Oh...and a harp...but a good one is thousands of pounds. I blame @lawriemacmillan as much as anything. @Lozz196 and I went to one of his gigs - harp player in the band sounded amazing. Also I remember a Dub track from Glastonbury with drums/bass/ harp - blew my mind!!! One of the dog walkers we walk with has a daughter who plays harp - one day I hope to jam with her.
  19. @Andyjr1515 has used magnets in three builds for me - make my life so much easier. Good choice.
