Has the thief been arrested yet?
  2. I agree with @yorks5stringer about musicians being undervalued on events like this. Good chance the bar staff and security are being paid so why expect the "entertainment" to work for nothing? Frustrating as we like to perform but show your appreciation by not insulting us.
  3. Young, gifted and black - Bob & Marcia
  4. Agree the darker fretboard looks better (IMO obviously)
  5. I had a M2000 with a L2000 neck which I had no issues with. My second M2000 was an absolute joy to play.
  6. I owe you nothing - Bros
  7. Are these lightweight? Will make a difference to Sire owners.
  8. When I finally discovered The Beautiful South was a great day...
  9. King of the Road - Roger Millar
  10. OMG!!! Rarely see these for sale and now there are two on this thread....sheet!!! I don't even have the money for one! We all know this is a monster bass - GLWTS.
  11. Reputations precedes this bass...we know it's going to be amazing. Trade for somebody else's kidney?
  12. I like the murals of a fella with a smart phone camera taking photos.
  13. A quote from "The Bass Lesson" by Victor Wooten when "Michael" suggests that Music is made of 10 equal parts. "Now we have ten different but equal parts of Music: notes, articulation, technique, feel, dynamics, rhythm, tone, phrasing, space and listening." He goes on to describe how he "played space". A great read (or listen, if you have the audio book).
  14. Not familiar with the actual Yamaha model you're interested in but having owned basses by both marques I can reassure you that you're on the right path. I would be happy with either bass, both punch well above their price point and are very user friendly.
  15. Soul Kitchen - The Doors
  16. Been driving me mad when I look at this... reccomended Single "c", double "m" Recommended
  17. By the Rivers of Babylon - Boney M
  18. I defy anybody to write a better bassline to "I want you back" (Jackson 5) or "Forget me nots" (Patrice Rushen). Both basslines are masterpieces and completely left field from what the majority of bass players would have played. Working with original songs, there are so many permutations that what is "better" becomes a matter of style and personal taste.

Ha! I don't know - perhaps it's time I joined in the chat...  I'll have a think on it :)

I never realised she was a member.  I feel the fairer sex are under represented generally on BC, especially considering how many great female players there are out there.  It would great if she contributed more.
