I was thinking about @Old Horse Murphy's beautiful green Charvel but it's a PJ. I have a Squire Standard PJ - MII - a lot of bass for not much - as suggested, swap the P for a J and get a new scratchplate.

I recently traded a Ray SUB 5er (out) for a Yamaha BBG5S (in) - I definitely think I got the better end of the deal. I was prepared to trade either of the two basses in the title. The fella I traded with was happy with the SUB but contacted me earlier to say he'd tried a Sire V2 and was impressed - asked whether I was prepared to trade for the Sire. The Sire impresses me with the range in the preamp - lots of tonal range but TBH the neck dive stops me from enjoying playing it. The SUB plays much better but is a bit "Meh" tonally. Realistically I wouldn't play either - I love the Yamaha and Lakland 55-01 5ers that I have. Both the SUB and the Sire are in top condition so that isn't a factor. Given a choice between the two which would you have?

Last Xmas - Wham!

I've placed an order for a set of Warwick 40-100 Tapewounds plus a single .120 to make the 5 set from Thomann. Out of stock currently but I'm advised next week. The Tapewounds on my Yamaha have added volume and tone to what was already an amazing bass. Highly recommended!!
