  1. I played a headless example at the LBGS - very impressed. I'm sure this will sell quickly.
  2. John Wayne (is Big Leggy) - Haysi Fantazi
  3. I have a couple of Schroeder Mini 10/10L which I would highly recommend. Not sure how many there are in the UK though. http://www.schroedercabinets.com/cabinets.html
  4. As many have said before me, the Sires are incredible VFM but weight seems to vary considerably so try one first. You can pick one up for under £200 - you would have killed for a bass this good for £200 when you started playing. I've always felt Fender basses didn't always live up to expectations but I started playing in the 80s when the build quality at Fender was abysmal. Most of those would have had their issues addressed by now but I can't get past my early bias. My Squier Standard PJ is a lot of bass for your buck and they appear on eBay weekly.
  5. "Better" is always subjective....personally I'm a big TE fan and can't find anything I like more. If you were a youth in the 80s/90s you probably grew up with TE as the voice of your youth. I'd be looking for a good head to pair with some modern lightweight cabs. I think that Vanderkley are a good match.
  6. Currently £280 so it could be much worse.. The ubiquitous scammers' "I don't know..." Please note. I do not know where this guitar was manufactured. Probably far east, the favourite being Korea.
  7. Ship Building - Elvis Costello/ Robert Wyatt
  8. Great advice. You keep the tone you're accustomed to and benefit from light weight cabs. VanDerKleys would be my recommendation
  9. Hey Tom Sorry to hear about your health issues - hope you get better soon. I've sent details of your bass to a fella called David, who is looking for a Mexican Player. Hopefully he'll be in touch. Edit: He just replied - he found something else...
  10. Pm the seller and ask for the scale length...if it's the same as a 21 fret you should be OK.
  11. Don't try that "oh, the strings are too short" trick on us, matey... If you think we don't know it's just a ploy to buy a short scale bass you must think we're stupid....and yes don't think Mrs @TomWIC doesn't know either..... BTW I do like the look of the short scale MM too... https://www.gak.co.uk/en/sterling-rayss4-stringray-short-scale-bass-daphne-blue/941746?gclid=Cj0KCQjwmcWDBhCOARIsALgJ2Qd4FElyyqbljUlnPnb9YZCHotdZOfslUe6Fht9CBvurrR7GYDPjiREaAiaHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  12. Phew!!! When I saw the title on the front page I thought he'd died.... Thanks for these vids @Bart Funk Bass
  13. Maybe a bit too soon..😂😂 Welcome sir...
  14. I think I still have the paperwork that goes with the head. Free to the buyer.
  15. Sorry to revisit this again but... I pre-paid for my TE Elf at the LBGS after being advised "end of March...if not, definitely April" - eventually September. This, pre COVID.. You can't hold a salesman personally responsible for a company's failure to deliver, Wait till it's on the shelf.
