Aren't these price rises going to impact on the price of used Rays? If nobody wants to pay £2-3k for a new one, but people still want to own a Ray, aren't the price of used ones going to go up? Forget about Stocks & Shares - invest in used Stingrays.

To be fair prices on these have been creeping up...gone are the days when you could get one for under £100

Previous owner upgraded the pre and pick ups...probably need to get a screwdriver out now.

I suspect they don't have a Public School education...

Personally I'd look at PJs - I'm finding much richer tones from mine..

Don't forget to include a tenner for the gallon of petrol and box of matches...

I'm going to stick my head up over the parapet now... Now I love the necks, the electronics and the tonal package but TBH I'm not a big fan of the body shape. IMO the body is too big and I don't like the top horn. If they made a smaller, more modern design (Spector/Warwick/ Ibanez) I'd be more inclined to buy and keep one. I have been tempted to buy one and send it off to @Andyjr1515 to transplant everything into something along the lines of my suggestion - not too dissimilar to the BE2 (wish they would make them at a more Yamaha price range - i.e great VFM). I wonder if the parts fit any of those cheap "build yourself" basses on eBay??

Hmmm...probably need to post some of my 55-01

GAS has got you now...it's all down hill from here. Starts with a new pedal, then a new bass, then another new bass "just in case", then one that you just liked the look of...before you know it you've got more basses than you need but one less than you want. Won't be long before you start a thread "how many is the right amount of basses to have"...all the usual reprobates start to point the blame at @cetera and @doctor_of_the_bass who have 50+ each and justify their own collections with "well, they have this many...." When I joined here I had 3 basses - now I have at least 10 (No, I'm not going to count them..). Every time I try to downsize I just spend the money on more gear. THERE IS NO CURE!!!!

I count 8 basses... Please don't make me count my own - I'm blissfully unaware of how many I currently have now that it's more than 10 again.
