  1. Thanks PTP for the advice but I regard thumb rests as an unnecessary eyesore with no place on any bass. Really need to hide the holes.
  2. Some have gone, others have taken their place. A couple of G&Ls.
  3. Fell in love with my first G&L M2000 but foolishly sold it on as part of my downsizing. As a replacement I bought a jazz but was disappointed so again moved it on. Then the SB2 came along and I snapped it up. This week I was able to find another M2000 and it came to live with me. Can't decide which I prefer TBH...both very good basses for not too much money.
  4. Last Xmas - Me cousin George and his mate Andrew
  5. Expect to get named in forthcoming Divorce proceedings...
  6. Sylvia Bluejay posted a video of Nick Smith playing it (though briefly) at The Herts Bass Bash..... http://youtu.be/OvwumLSkXzU Starts at 4:30
  7. Interesting read: https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/30411-the-anatomy-of-a-bass-string-bass-intonation-lumped-strings-Bass-Bench-Heiko-Hoepfinger
  8. Jus Lukin Location: 149.6m km from Sun You're not kidding!!
  9. Ah, Simmons electric drums. They used to be made just up the road from me on the way to St Albans - I had friends who worked there who said the technology didn't work. They threw away as many as they sold IIRC.
  10. I use Hard Rock Cafe drawstring bags to keep cables in.
  11. Bought a bass which arrived with 2x sets of screw holes from thumb rests. Is there a better method than using (the correct colour) wax crayons melted into the holes?
  12. I expected this to have sold by now....I would be interested if I can move some gear I have for sale here... GLWTS in the meantime.
  13. I have an Ashdown Evo11 180w at home. Perfectly adequate as a practice amp with good tonal palette (and brilliant Customer service from Ashdown if required). I haven't used it in real anger but I would expect it to do what was required...it's an Ashdown after all. They sell for around £100...great VFM IMO
  14. Browsing through eBay and I found a couple of sets of strings by the same company, Bryce. After reading the front packaging I got to wondering " I wonder what's the difference". Then I realised that at about £6 a packet (remember you probably get what you pay for) I REALLY DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO OPEN THE AD. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Bass-Guitar-4-String-Set-Light-040-Nickel-Alloy-by-Bryce/263440294745?epid=17013180526&hash=item3d5643e359:g:zLkAAOSwgsxaXfod https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Bass-Guitar-4-String-Set-Light-040-Nickel-Alloy-by-Bryce/263440294792?epid=20013180624&hash=item3d5643e388:g:5iYAAOSwu6taXfof Anybody else?
