12 Bar blues drives me mental - hate it - I really couldn't work in a shop where every other person plays this... The Chain - love the riff but i couldn't listen to it being murdered (and I have heard this happen, many times) even if I was being paid. I've no doubt the Flea version of "Higher ground" gets killed regularly too..

Talk like that will get you thrown off this forum...have you not read about GAS??? 😉 I can't speak for any of the other systems but I find the SimS pick ups in my Custom build very versatile. Whether anybody else notices is a completely different matter. At many Bass Bashes even the owners have trouble spotting their own basses.

I don't know if anybody makes a "standard" set of strings for a 9 string bass. You'll need to go "custom". Find a manufacturer you like, pick the gauges you want then send an email along with the money.

I like the three on the left....virtually free too. I have a genuine Fender Hi-Mass bridge I bought for my Squier PJ but decided against as it nearly half the price of the bass..are any of these a like for like swap...you know, undo the screws, swap 'em over, replace the screws???

I didn't buy or sell anything to or from Jez... So why am I posting here, you might ask... I read a post where Jez had sent some TE Catalogues to another BCer - they being my Kryptonite I couldn't resist but ask for the same favour. Without hesitation Jez sends them to me (work email) so that I can print them off at my leisure (next time I can use the office printer). A gentleman of the highest order... Look forward to being able to return the favour...

Mike has a four string for sale on eBay currently...I think that whoever commissioned the bass paid the deposit then couldn't afford the rest of the payments. Their loss I suppose (not only financially).. I'm sure you'll enjoy your new bass...

Yep...affects the price. EBS Gorm combo is around the £300 mark EBS Neo Gorm closer to £800 Wish I could get the latter at the price of the former...

IIRC I read a very interesting article somewhere (here?) praising the virtues of Peterson amps with Double Basses. Had a quick Google without any success...I'm sure with more persistence I could have found it but TBH I can't be rrrrsed
