    Hi All

Welcome John The trick is not to stretch your hand, rather pivot off your thumb. By doing this you have a reach of maybe 7 or 8 frets. When you know your way round the fretboard you'll see that you never need to reach more than 4 frets anyway. Good luck
  3. I had the 4 string version of your GB Spitfire...
  4. I'd forgotten how good an album this is...ordered from Amazon

  5. Got it in your music collection?? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mirror-GRAHAM-CENTRAL-STATION-2006-05-03/dp/B01G9AF216/ref=sr_1_79?crid=1U28G6LZ2Q8V1&dchild=1&keywords=graham+central+station&qid=1586611260&sprefix=graham+c%2Caps%2C154&sr=8-79
  6. £900??? He's got some sense of humour.....he's obviously having a laugh.
  7. Couldn't find anything on eBay I wanted so bought 2 pairs of trainers from Sports Direct online...
  8. I'm trying to stay away from eBay.... Just going to have a quick look to see what amps are available... I hate you all
  9. Surely the magnet has a use to those who regularly drop screws??
  10. I have one - similar yet different to my G&L M2000. Hard to choose between them - both excellent basses, both great VFM.
  11. ...but will you still be saying this in a couple of days? Never tried it myself but I'm led to believe that boiling strings is a short term measure only - just buy new strings and save yourself the derrière-ache.
  12. Off topic, I know but.....As kids our means of earning money was as caddies at the local Golf course. I caddied for Harry H. Corbett at a Pro Am event - the Pro was Ewan Murray, now a commentator of the sport.
  13. Texas??? My local branch closed years ago.....
  14. I'm sure the OP found all that advice really helpful...loads of great basses to choose from but no definitive answer. Seems like there is lots of choice in all price ranges nowadays.

    mr E

The Yamahas are amazing VFM....you'll be hard pushed to find a bass of similar quality in the price range. That's where I'd spend my money..
  16. I was tempted...then realised that I don't need one as I have a number of things which do a similar job... More for everybody else, I suppose
  17. Love the Yew top... Got me pine-ing for one myself....
  18. I was recycling a personalised phone case (Trace Elliot image). Tony had the phone to fit so got in contact. Agreement made, I sent it to Tony. I expected him to pay for P&P, instead he paid £8, far more than I was expecting. The song says " a good man is hard to find"...look no further than Tony's profile. An asset to this forum. Trade with confidence.
  19. Sad news...and on such a "lovely daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay"
