    It does look good...
  3. I was speaking to a friend who has one (and the 5 string version) last night. Very complimentary - well you have to be really...it is a Yamaha. GLWTS

    You knew this was coming...
  5. There's another clean(er) semi acoustic on the same page.
  6. Found this on the Reverb site - looks very nice.
  7. Came across this rather nicely proportioned vintage bass on Gumtree. I really like the proportions. I've never seen or heard of these basses - though there's a brief history on the ad I'm still wondering why. https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-instrument/1960-s-vintage-melodija-4-string-hollow-body-bass-restoration-project-/1464380597 Historical facts about Melodija: Some of Melodija guitars were Hofner guitars made under licence. As well as at golden guitar making era when Hofner experienced extremely high demand for their instruments to be made, as a sequence some necks for their models were made in Megnes Melodija Guitar Factory in Slovenia. Italian guitar brand Giemmei Guitars (Giocattoli Musicali Italiani) sold their particular guitar models on order, made by “Melodija” although instruments were sold under “Giemmei” guitar brand name. Does anybody know any more?
  8. Please note that there are overheads in putting on these events so if you can come, please do. Nobody involved in setting up the events makes any money, in fact when we put on the Herts Bashes I, personally, would be around £100 out of pocket after paying for raffle prizes, tea, coffee, etc. All your contributions go to the nominated charity. Attendees get a great day out, a chance to play gear that you won't get to see in any shop, attend interesting seminars and take part in gear tests. My favourite part: meeting up with old friends and putting faces to avatars - a chance to actually speak to those who we only know through the forum. Don't forget it's also possibly the only time in the year when it's OK to be a bass bore.
  9. Overwater broke off their relationship because they were unhappy with the quality control with those basses. Sharp fret ends were not uncommon IIRC.
  10. Not unlike those people who sold their Wals for under a grand around 2000 - the art of kicking yourself is alive and well.
  11. Ritter short scale gigbag on it's way to Rob after he posted in the wanted thread. I had to really after the fine job he did on the pickup surrounds for my Fender Contemporary Jazz .
  12. Great that we acknowledge good service not just winge about poor service like some other forums/ fora.
  13. Bought a set of tapewound strings from Kris - smooth transaction with a message telling me when they actually went into the post. Good man...
