i like anything with a 3 band eq, so you can mess around with the mid, always sounds perfect

haha thanks buddy, i dont mind alembic's they seem gorgeous to look at, but somehow i just dont think they cut it as an all rounder bass, im not knocking them as its just my opinion but i prefer a punchier slightly heavier tone, which imho the alembic's haevnt got, beautiful instruments though , any plans for a meet up next year? ?

haha chavvy, no i wouldnt dream of it ive got too much respect for the general community to be one of those thugs , i actually got given the bass by my dad, it was redundant in his cupboard after he bought his series 1, so he said when i got pretty good that i could have it, i started out at the age of around 8-9 on a white squier p bass special, which i would kill to get my hands on again it was lovely, but traded that for a squier jazz bass which is one of my favourite instruments , after id worked with my dad painting and decorating for a few months (i also got my spending money for hawaii) ... im hoping to get a few bass related things soon actually, slowly but surely i am going to get a cheap preamp for my jazz, along with a badass bridge a scratchplate, and modify my jazz which will include stripping the body down and painting it white, with a tortoise shell plate :):)... and an amp thanks guys, hope everyone else is okay on here, keep posting those piccies x

cheers for the comments guys, both positive and negative, sure i am influenced by mark king and his sound, but the way i wear my bass is up to me, the comfortable way for me is to wear it like that, i cant slap any other way to be honest...but cheers for the comments :), hope everyone has had a nice christmas and is now gearing up for the new year take care basss players, x

thanks for the comments guys if really is a lovely bass, and better still its individual, in its looks and its sounds sure its a jaydee but there's a special something that i cant descrieb that all other basses that ive played (squiers, fenders, alembic, status, mtd, vigier), all dont have it truly is one of its kind and i will never ever be letting it go anyway its officially christmas, and im already wasted!!! lo l:P take care people enjoy x

ive got three, but kinda four,

Jaydee Roadie 2 Active: My Fave Bass!!! perfect sounds, looks, playablitiy!!!
Squier Jazz bass: good bass, perfect for everything ranging from jaco to marcus!!!
Shine violin bass: good for a nice dead sound, similar to macca...
Jaydee series 1: my dads bass, perfect for slap and fingerstyle, amazing bass, the only way to go for the mark king sound!
amazing basses, and i think theyll be all i ever need, except a nice fretless fender jazz bass (or the squier vintage modified one), a status and another jaydee or two :) but im just dreaming merry xmas!

i cant really buy cd's regularly anymore but in the last month or so ive bought a few cd's these include: always and forever-the best of heatwave (great music, im still trying to get the album current on cd help?) jamiroquai-emergency on planet earth (fantastic album, loved if since i was young, great grooves, jamiroquai will never be the same without zender) level 42-the retroglide tour live (my fave band, always has been since i was a baby lol, quite a good double live cd, although the bass tone isnt really for me its a bit thin if im honest, i love the waltz for dwan piece on it though ) and thats about it to be honest... i can start buying again soon though because ive got a job in sainsburys over and out marcus

hi there mate, i love the idea of a food operated preamp, means i can switch back to the original passive sound whenever i like, but i also ike the idea of having it on the body...what a to do lol...
-
-
i think my squier ones will do the job for now...but the preamp is well cheap check it out. artec se2a (Y)... or i might ust leave it standard, it needs new pots anyways cos ive stripped the shafts out of the old ones lol, by accident changing the knobs haha oh and strings would help too!!!< i just want to do something to this bass its been under my bed for months lol

beautiful i love it...
I did it to my Squier VMJ.I used an ARTEC SE2A unit off Ebay.It gives you a blend control, treble and bass boost/cut,and master volume.Much better tonal range than the standard set up.You will need to route out a cut out on the back for the battery box,but thats it.8 solder connections in all,and all for around £30.Check it out.
hi, im thinking about this option, so what knobs did you use for the double layer pot??? thanks marcus
-
i think that he uses standard fender ones???
Very occassionaly, in a disco track, its acceptable. Anything else, and you end up sounding like that prick Mark King. The only reason you'd like him is if you're "of a certain age" or bullied at school for having a coat that smelt of vinegar. I am a young man who was far to hard to ever be bullied. My coat smelt fresh. I didn't drink lemon cordial. Therefore, I can maintain that non-funk/disco slap is the preserve who those who think Hi-Tech trainers are cool and rolling the sleeves up on a blazer is acceptable. Thank you.
yeah prick mark king eh??? play like it, id love to see you play like that, and sing at the same time...
