1. Am I correct in thinking you can get a gadget that enables you to plug into your i-phone? Are they any good?
2. I'll take the best set Please pm payment details...... Cheers Andy
3. How do you fancy the short scale model of this bass?
4. Be surprised if this hasn't gone but worth a shot if you live nearby. http://www.gumtree.c...eels/1033477033
5. I'm off to Maidstone on Saturday morning to hopefully do a trade deal, I was thinking of popping in on my way back to Swindon - It'd be rude not to!. If I can fit it in, I'll bring my EAD Foundation 212 and Markbass TT500
6. I'm pretty sure you must be aware of Alans work at Bassix, he is now developing a foldable double bass that doesn't require removal of the strings for transit. I have one of his voila models, which has a fairly decent acoustic volume, but even folded, its quite a large case!
7. Thanks guys, must've slipped under my radar! Will read through when I get a minute
8. Anyone had any experience of buying items from the states using the above system? As I understand it you pay the import charges up front and there are no surprise charges. However I'm a bit cynical about this especially as it seems like you have to "Buy it now " before you actually find out what the charges are . Or am I missing something? Any thoughts?
9. It could be that your guitarist has a typical "bedroom"tone cranked up, which is likely to drown out some of the frequencies your hearing on stage. Might be worth paying some attention to that before spending your hard earned........... Just a thought
10. Recent transaction with Chris went smoothly with no hiccups! Nice guy, and as good as his word. I'd have no hesitation in entering into a deal with him in the future
11. Bassix EUB Sax player has a hat - does that count?
12. If you can hold on 'til Sept 21st, you should get yourself over to the South East Bass Bash 2113 Graeme aka japan-axe on here is going from Swindon and has offered a spare seat , and if you look at the thread, you can see a list of all the gear that will be gathered in the one place - ain't no shop with that amount of stock, and pretty much everyone will let you try theirs. I doubt if there is a better opportunity to see/hear/try gear I'll be going if I am not gigging
13. Anyone tried Status Hotwires Black Nylon Strings? Very reasonably priced at £17
14.
*Like* :-) Fretless 5 gets my vote anyway; never played an ACG but that does look rather quality!
Gets my vote too - And I already have an AGC fretless fiver Mine really sings with the ACG 01 pre, I'd be interested to hear your opinion of the 3 band, Andy
15. Thanks for all the offers via pm, but I should have stated above that as I have listed it at such a low price anyway, I can't really take any lower offers.......... If you want to make me a higher one..............!
16.
Have a bump, these are supposed to sound absolutely brilliant and seemingly a steal at £120 each
Thanks, and you're correct, they're the best kept secret in the bass world!! Worth far more in terms of performance but people are reluctant to splash out on something thats relatively unknown to them.
17.
I had one of these and it was fantastic - very reliable. A bargain, too!
18.
Andy, it was a pleasure meeting you, hope the cab treats you well. By the way, I had a look at your FB page, you've got some awesome basses on show.
Nice of you to say so Will, my lack of resistance to GAS is clearly the cause
19. Breaks my heart to put these up for sale - I still bear the scars from the build!! However, in my ongoing quest to free my living space of items that are not being used, I find I am running out of excuses to keep these great cabs. Each cab is fitted with an Eminence Beta 10, (250w @ 8 ohms), plus a pair of piezo tweeters. Weight is about 13kg, dimensions are 14.5"H x 20"W x 16"D Build diary Here There is plenty of information and reviews on the internet, just search for Bill Fitzmaurice Omni 10.5 They are in perfect working order, and still look pretty fine, although the limitations of my carpet joining skills have become apparent recently Being as they were the first ones I built, I probably went overboard in ensuring they were solidly built and airtight but its paid dividends and the back has never been off either one since they were built and they have been utterly reliable. I have used them as back line for bass mainly but also as PA cabs on occasion, where they coped admirably. I will sell these as a pair only. I have put these up for a mere £240 for the pair, they will need to be collected from Swindon although there may be some possibility of delivery/meet halfway for petrol money, depending on time/distance considerations. There is nothing to touch these at this giveaway price, so please no offers and no trades as the object of the exercise is to make some space at home!!!! Take a look! 20. Just bought a cab from Will, got a great deal, had a play on a really nice Ibanez, got a great cuppa and a had a good ole bass related chin-wag. I would have no hesitation in dealing with him in the future - one of the good guys!!
21. Just been round to "liberate" the 1212L There is some seriously good gear here folks, and it has obviously been treated well. Get in quick before it gets snapped up. Excellent cuppa too! Bargain bump!!
22. You sir, are a man of good taste
23. This great amp is surplus to my requirements, so its gonna fall victim to my ruthless space saving regime! You can have it for a hundred quid plus postage, which will be £15, due to it needing a big box and weighing in at 11.7kg (26 lbs). It works perfectly, although the fans are a bit noisy for studio recording applications, but its perfect for driving a PA or monitors or you can put a pre-amp in front of it and play bass! Specs are: 300W Per Channel = 8 ohms (Stereo) 450W Per Channel = 4 ohms (Stereo) 900W Bridged = 8 ohms (Mono) Frequency Response = 20Hz to 20kHz Signal To Noise Ratio = <0.5% Weight: 11.7kg If you wanna collect it from Swindon, I'll throw in a load of PA leads in for good measure!
