1. Dont practice until you get it right - practice 'til you dont get it wrong
  2. A very straightforward and easy purchase from David. Dont be put off by the fact that he is based in Hungary - this was quicker than Royal Mail 2nd! Well done that man!
  3. Just sold my Cort Fretless to Will, he's a thoroughly nice chap to deal with and is as good as his word. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again and would recommend him as an honest and reliable buyer/seller.
  4. Consider
How did I miss this ? If the provisional sale falls through can I put myself next in line ?
Consider yourself first reserve!
  5. Well, my new fretless has landed, so I'm gonna bump this up. I really don't want to put it in its case and leave it in the loft, which would probably be unhealthy for it. Rather that than ebay, though, which would probably be unhealthy for me!
  6.
Stunner! Made in the same factory as Lakland Skylines too if I'm not mistaken, so build quality is tip top
Ah! That would figure, its right up there with my old DJ in terms of quality but the U-Retro gives it the edge tonally

    SOLD
Price: 100 Pounds
Does that include shipping?
  8.
I keep telling myself I don't need it but I really do!
I notice you're from West Sussex - I'm originally from Horsham and regularly visit relatives around there - it would make delivery a very likely proposition!!
That is a very very good combination. Cort quality, Ebony fretless and a U-Retro. Man after my own heart stylee bump. A
yes, I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality and playability. I dont think you'd get a better spec'd instrument for the price
  9. This Fantastic instrument has been perfect for me to make the transition from fretted to fretless bass, and only the arrival of a shiny new custom fretless makes this now surplus to my requirements. It is the more desirable Korean made model, in a fabulous translucent white finish over a nicely figured Ash body, finished with a Tort pickguard. It has an unlined 34" fretless Ebony board, with dot markers on the pitch at the 3rd, 5th, 7, 9, 12, 15, 17, 19 and 21st positions where the frets would have been. It comes with Hipshot hardware and a Neutrick locking jack as standard and the string spacing at the bridge is about 18mm. It is fitted with a John East U-Retro, with black controls, and has an exceedingly wide range of tones as you would expect.. It weighs in at about 10½ lbs according to my bathroom scales and is in tip top condition with no visible marks or scratches. Comes with a gig bag. Yours for only £395 + postage
  10.
Twas me Andy held this over for me to try today. Just want to say to those who can't just pop down the road that it's a nice bass and has got me thinking :gas:My reason for not buying is more to do with GAS guilt and the wifes birthday in two weeks. Than any issues with the bass. I was also thinking towards a fretless project with this and feel now that this could end up an expensive experiment. Sorry Andy and good luck.
No worries Paul, and thanks for the bump!
  11. Hi Mert, 15 quid should do it.
  12.
That's a Xmas bargain for someone ... Considerably less than what I paid for my fretless one.
Yep! I'm taking a bit of a hit here, but Its just gathering dust at the moment, I did look at the cost of a fretless neck from Status, but the cost would be prohibitive as Rob is not tooled up for wooden necks any more. An unlined board might have been a possibility, but the edge markers in the normal (between the frets) position would probably confuse me! New instrument in coming at the weekend so I need the space!
  13. I would say 18mm according to my unscientific ruler measurement. Cheers Andy
  14. Owing to the imminent arrival of a new fretless, I really have to move this great instrument on. Now down to £399 plus shipping I'm heading up the M6 to Moffat at the weekend so possible meet or delivery could be arranged en route
  15.
Great thread, and info. The pics have gone though, which would help me, is there a way of getting them back? Also, when initially unscrewing the truss rod nut, is there not a danger (If the nut is afixed tightly to the rod), that the whole thing can become detached from the holding section at the headstock end (Where it's screwed into, and, presumably screwed in the same direction!, so when you turn the nut anti-clockwise, the whole thing becomes detached), in which case you're buggered??? Any comment would be greatly appreciated. Rick

Aye, can you magic the pics back please?
I think the photos got lost when I had a PC virus issue a while back, and like a fool I hadn't done a back up, but I have a spare neck around somewhere, so I will endeavour to re-create the pics when I get a minute. Rick, I would always undo the truss rod nut with a gentle back and forth motion initially if there is any resistance, I've been lucky so far and not had the problem you describe. Dont forget a little copper ease or vaseline on the threads on re-assembly, which should help prevent it happening in the future
  16. How about this one
  17.
All the hours to play it (try and learn how to play it) instead of watching crap christmas TV has to be good
Best to make sure you dont overdo it at first, if you're not used to the scale length you might be getting a few aches and pains.
  18. I'll drop out guys, as I wont have time to read it, so if anyone can figure out who's next.......
  19. Do you H1 owners set the recording level to auto or adjust it manually? When I had an H1 I missed out on a couple of good recordings due to setting the level incorrectly and I found auto setting would clip into distortion. When I got it right though, it was superb
  20. There's loads of THESE things on the net, is that the sort of thing you're looking for? I got one off of ebay a couple of years ago and its been fine.
