1. Just gone through 16 pages of "New Content" 'til I got to this - time for a bump!
2. Couple more pictures, courtesy of photobucket, as apparently the 3 pics above have exceeded my permitted quota Perfect balance (the warwick - not me!)
3.
Pm'd
Replied!
4. With great reluctance I am offering this brilliant workhorse of a bass for sale, - I just cant get to grips with the string spacing Its a proper german one, usual Warwick refinements, ie , Just-a-nut adjustable nut, 2 piece bridge, recessed straploks, MEC pickups and circuit which combined with the maple body and wenge neck, allow the typical Warwick growl to cut through the mix with great clarity and articulation, (it also does Dub and everything in between) Judging by the wear at the popping finger position, it probably also does slap pretty well too! Talking of wear, this is nearly eighteen years old and has seen some service and bears a few marks, the aforementioned wear from popping (see photo), some minor belt rash, one small ding on the back of neck on the treble side, (which isn't noticable in play), and the general cosmetic marks you would expect from an instrument of this age. . This feels a very solid instrument, average weight, the action can get very low if thats your preference, balances perfectly and is ready to earn its keep! I got this fairly recently, in a trade deal as I have always liked the sound of Warwicks and admired the German quality and this has exceeded my expectations in that respect, its just the string spacing!! I'm asking £450 for it, I would prefer collection as I dont have a case for it and I'm sure any potential buyer would like to try it out first
5. If its an active bass, have you tried changing the battery? Mine gets horribly distorted when the battery dies
6.
Mmm.... Food for thought. Any thoughts on the fender Mexican jazz 5 strings, are they better made than the squires?
I have a mim jazz fiver that is brilliant, with a really well defined B, but I may have got lucky here, 'cos others I have played have been a let down. I think the quality control is a bit variable and its best to try before you buy
7. Glad it arrived ok, Pete, Thanks for the feedback
8. Check this one out http://basschat.co.u...0-inc-delivery/ Cant go wrong for the price
9. I think you're right about the sound quality, but after (too) many years of an 8x10 wrecking my back, my car, (I even knocked my front door frame out of the wall once!) and struggling up stairs and then back down again it finally dawned on me that 95% of the punters don't even notice or care. I have now made the trade off to lightweight gear and you know what? Its not so bad sound wise and my backache has gone!
10. Ste has just bought a Markbass head off of me, he paid instantly and responded to messages in double quick time! In all, a very easy and pleasant transaction and I'd have no hesitation in dealing with him again. Top bloke!!
11.
This was my previously amp and I took it out of the MB 1x15 cab and it was very well cared for, it's a great amp... and also andyonbass is a trusted guy to buy off.. That's a very good price!! If I wasn't trying to buy another bass, I'd have it back
Thanks Adrian, the current condition is evidence that its previous owner took great care with it! Hope you are doing well and keeping the gigs rolling in! This is now sold, by the way!
12. The combo head is the removable head from the CMD combo range, it is essentially a LittleMark 2 with a bit more yellow on the front. Same chassis and internals. This one has been kept in the included genuine Markbass bag so is in very tidy condition, with just a few marks where it must've rubbed when being removed from the combo. Its in perfect working order. The bag has one sticky zip, but is also in very good condition £300
13. The amplug is a good device, but dont bother with their speaker cabinet accessory, it farts out at anything louder than a whisper. I know 'cos I sent one back for exchange thinking it was faulty, and the replacement was even worse
14. Anyone ever had a go at making a wedge shaped one of these, allowing the cab to tilt back a bit so you can hear it better? I feel a project coming on! Keep your eye on the amps for sale section - expect one LM2, slightly dented where it fell of the cab!
15.
I could be wrong but I think you need the one's with the bigger 1/2" posts.
So where is the measurement taken? According to my (cheap) Vernier calliper, the hole in the headstock measures 14.5mm, the threaded part of the tuner is 11.7mm and the winding post is 9mm. The part you grip to turn it is 34mm. Could you measure one yours for comparison please, Zalan
16. Anyone know whether these would fit a mex fender five string? Would probably double the value, though
17. Where are you based?
18. Can you take a photo of it and post on here? Sounds like mole grips is the way to go.
19.
Cant wait to gig with this tonight.
Nice one Steve, I'll open my window and listen out for you!!
20. I have been lucky to find a great example of a Mex Jazz 5 stringer, but I dont like the look of the tuners. Nothing wrong with them, they work fine but look pants in my opinion. I wouldn't mind changing them to a more traditional elephant ear type if I could find any that would fit. I wonder if anyone here has any experience or suggestions. Thanks in anticipation Andy
21. Thanks for the pms, will respond after work today!!
